Is it possible to upgrade from a 7600GT to a 7900GS KO and then from that to a new directx10 card when they come out or can you only do it just once? I have the 7600GT and if i can only do it once ill just wait for the new directx10 cards that are cheaper.

It's NOT worth upgrading to a 7900GS at this time at all, I would just wait for the estimated release date of the 8600GT, which is April 17th, 2007... It will cost anywhere from 150-170$, and there will be an 8600GTS that costs from 200-250$... So if you can wait, I would, the 7600GT is a pretty good card as it is, there's not much need to get a 7900GS, when in a month, you can get something for a similar price... I also wouldn't count on DX10 cards dropping in price anytime soon... The 8600GT is said to perform similarly to the 7900GT, or the 7950GT...

You can upgrade your video card as many times as you want, unless a new slot comes out or something.

Thanks a lot. If I can step up as many times as I want to I mineswhile get the 7900 cause stepping up from the 7600gt it would only cost me $30 and then it will cost me less to step up to a directx10 card. Newegg has a 7900gs evga ko for 140 right now

No, you cannot keep upgrading using the step-up program. The step-up applies for ONE upgrade within a 90 day period.

I don't think you can upgrade from a dx 9 card to a dx 10 card with the step-up program.

Yes, you can upgrade a dx9 to a dx10 card with the upgrade. You guys should just go read the term and conditions rather than assuming. http://www.evga.com/stepup/default.asp?switch=2

The evga step up program is interesting. Personally, i dont think its worth it. This is because when u trade in a card they give you what u paid for it and when u choose a new card they charge u the MSRP. I wanted to trade in my 7600gt awhile back (i paid $150) and i wanted to upgrade a 7950gt, which at the time was about $275 on newegg, i realized i would have to pay $379.  This meant i would have to pay $229 after my "step-up" which was almost the price of the card on newegg. So in the end i just kept my 7600gt and bought another one.

Yes you can use the step up program to upgrade to a DX10 card but you can only use the upgrade once, just to clear everything up.  This sucks though because i live in hawaii and can't take advantage of the program.
