What do you think of this? is Activision responsible for MW2 unexplained 60$ tag and the lack of dedicated servers? or are these two going to do the same with EA?

They are in a better place but they aren't the "good" that we need, I personally wouldn't care less about them or their projects, but I do hope they keep their hands out of present popular series owned by EA.

Since those guys are some of the original guys responsible for Medal of Honor maybe they should make another one and go back to their roots compared to the crap they have done recently.

Well, one greedy ass publishing company goes down, another rises. Good riddance, the IW heads are better off in EA than Activision and I'm sure results will show in the future.

Wouldn't want to see the next generation of FPS war games priced at 60$ with no dedicated servers on the PC.

...... I wouldn't be too sure; all they did was create their own studio (Respawn Entertainment), that doesn't mean the price of "their" games will go down any, we'll have to see ..... and with EA being the "sole" distrbutor, that would mean none of their games will be on Steam or any other digital download site; so, any good deals on the games they release will be up to them, how often has that happened in any reasonable amount of time?

These are the guys the solely ruined MW2, do not think about support these guys. They are still IW. Just with a new name, and a different dev team and publisher.

Can you please explain how they were the ones that ruined it please?

And how is it bad that they are still IW? If IW didn't exist there would be no Call of Duty and you would have nothing to complain about, so be happy with the fact that they do exist and you can complain that the creators of their own franchise apparently did destroy their own franchise. I say apparently because I do not know who actually ruined Call of Duty, but apparently you do. Even though, you have said you do without any facts to back it up beyond the "I said it so it is true" fact.

He means that they are the lesser of the two evils with the other one being Activision. We shouldn't hail them and cheer like they are triumphant champions returning from a long and glorious war campaign.

It's nice to see a blow to Activision. Nevertheless, it's their fault that MW2 lacked the core PC-centric features that caused the uprising and boycott bull**** we saw in september.

So you get slapped and stepped on by Activision, get fired than as revenge join EA who has an incredibly long history of doing the exact same thing to it's developers that they just went through. I guess sometimes you have to get burnt more than once to learn not to stick your hand in the fire.

EA is just as bad, if not worse than Activision. I say this from experience - Westwood, Bioware and Origin....kdawg88
I think you mean Pandemic... not bioware... last i saw Bioware is still thriving.

And Westwood didn't exactly go under.. the studio was closed yes, but the majority of the staff moved on to form EA LA.

That would have been a good idea. Don't get me wrong, most of those guys at Infinity Ward have a lot of talent. If they joined the Medal of Honor team, it would be a kickass game.

They haven't "Joined" EA, EA is simply funding their new studio as part of their EA Partners program. They are an independent development studio that will have their games published by EA, but EA will have no claims to the IP of the games or any influence on the structuring of the studio.

When a publisher has exclusive rights to your titles, they own you plain and simple. They control your budget, they determine what gets developed, they determine who runs the show. If they don't play by EA's rules they sue them for all the financing they gave them as well as additional "damages".

now that they are an independant developer working as an EA partner, they will have noone to blame if their new game fails. i cant wait to see if they manage to make something good.

Their relationship is like Crytek. I mean sure, EA does have some say about the games (it is their money after all) but I think these guys will be fine. Many of the EA games I own are 9.0+ material in my book so I have no hate toward EA.

They had the say in what happens with the game. Most of the other devs in their team merely followed their orders. It's like working for any other company, the managers make the decisions, the employees merely follow them. And I can come up with a list of quotes of them insulting their customers and also showing their involvement in the decisions.

This will be interesting to see how it plays out. Might be good, might be bad, but I haven't liked Activision for sometime now, just never got a good vibe from their games since CoD4.

As long as Activision has Blizzard, they will persevere. I think it's safe to say that IW that we all knew is now dead.
