I have a laptop and a computer and recently my laptop has broken. I purchased an external hardrive enclosure in which to connect the hardrive from my laptop to my computer.

However the computer will not grant me access to the files on my laptop even though the folders appear on my computer and there are no connection problems.

PLEASE ADVISE, is there a simple way to solve this, if you have had this problem personally please inform me on how you fixed the problem, VERY IMPORTANT DATA ON HARDRIVE

If you've put a password on your laptops hard drive, such as a session password, you will not be able to access your files and folders. You have to boot on your laptops drive and get rid of the password, if that's the case.

If you have an external USB hard drive(i'm sure that is what you have) you have to go into your BIOS and change the boot features so you boot over the USB port and you will be able to boot on your laptops drive you've put in your external drive. Sorry for the late respond, i am not always on a computer when it's around week end :P.
