Hey everyone,

I just purchased a Samsung T220 22" LCD to use as an external monitor to my Inspiron 1720 laptop. Anyways, my laptop screen has a native resolution of 1440x900 and that's the maximum that the display properties show. However my LCD has a native resolution of 1680x1050, but I'm not able to choose that setting in the display options. Anyone know a way around this where I can upgrade the resolution on my external monitor?

Thank you in advance.

Make sure you click on monitor 2 in the displays or make sure the 22 inch is extended in the display options. Once it's extended you should be able to use 1680 x 1050 by clicking the second monitor.

Sounds like either your drivers are out of date, for your graphics card or display card, that or you need to select second monitor from the drop down, because it seems at the moment you are only configuring resolutions for your laptop 1440x900 screen. Btw has your Sammy monitor started displaying a picture yet?
