wow that was unexpected....ShadowDeathXExactly, i thought it would have a later release but to my suprise it JUST released
So... Deus EX like game... 17 bucks... 5Gigs in size? *bought* altho filesize never really tells about size, I hope its an endicator in this time :P besides ^^ Im a sucker for games :3
I saw "Psychological and mental trauma management." on the list of Key Features and decided I need this game, even though I knew nothing about it before reading this thread.
They chose such a terribletime to release the game. I was planning on buying the game day one, but I just spent all my money on DX3 and Red Orchestra 2 perorders, so I'm pretty much out of cash.
I might be able to spare $18 though. So if anyone has this game or plans to buy it and wants to play co-op with a fellow Gamespotter, add me on Steam.

Alright, so ive been playing for about an hour, (which isnt a fair time, i know) and i must say im a bit disappointed. The game is a bit....weird. Not in the story sense, but in just a game sense. I dont know what it is, it just...doesnt feel right

Doh!
Ok lets have some more impressions. I might buy...
The game is Dark Messiah of Might and Magic with guns. There are plenty of RPG elements but the main emphasis is on how you tackle a situation and there are a few different ways for objectives. The writing is hit or miss because of a hilarious translation but the tone of the universe is awesome. I would recommend the game soley because its an FPS/RPG that draws from Deus Ex, Warhammer 40K, Dark Messiah, and Fallout: New Vegas (reputation system) and is great for what it is.
Why are people going crazy about this? Ive never heard about it and Id much rather hear about whether or not its any good. Is it?Gamesterpheonix
Because it is the first FPS/RPG that is going for the Deus Ex style since Bloodlines. Like I said in the previous post it is a good game.

TBH i find that STEALTH is way too hard. So far, (not very far...) i havent gotten the cloak ability, so stealth is.....impossible for me.So... Impressions...
I started out really dissapointed in the game, the tutorial is... lacking to say the least.
After that I had my first mission, which was so so, reminded me a bit of the fps from the 90.
Now here is where It got interresting:
Sofar Ive only playied the main mission, and the optional neverending side missions for that area for... about... 5 hours. This is REALLY addicting ^^
The game is somewhat a mix between: Deus ex (sorta, it has SOME of the general ideas from Deus ex), Syndicate (yeah this is no joke, there is a syndicate like upgrade system to the physical body) and the general mayhem in the map sofar reminded me a great deal of how some of teh maps in Syndicate playied out, Quake (it is REALLY fast pased),researchakin to the UFO games (find a piece of eqpuiment, and research it),and the RPGs of Old (there are ALOT of stats that can be leveled up, heck you even start out by rolling your avatars stats like in the old bg games ^^)
5 hours of grinding... it is rather fun, but do not expect some kind of Deus ex, it is pretty much a mishmash, and there are very few npcs Ive met, almost anything out of the headquarters are enemies (and an abnormal amount), so the streets sofar never feel like streets, more of an arena.
About an hour in and I absolutely love this game. It truly is a mosh of Deus Ex with Stalker in a new setting.
Everything has been positive, complex and fun so far.
Only negative I have is the graphics are a bit barren or stark in a Mass Effect type way. No clutter and too pristine. And it's easy so far. If the difficultly doesn't ramp up soon I'm going to have to restart on Hard instead of Normal.
This game is the antithesis of console, love it!!! This is the breath of PC fresh air that I've been waiting for soooooooo long since Stalker.

What do you mean by never-ending side missions? Are they randomly generated, or can you just repeat the same ones over and over?
Just played about 2 hours so far. From those 2 hours of experience i got.
Pros
Lots of different Powers which are interestings.
Skill upgrades are interesting too.
Gunplay is quite fun. Many different way to approach a situation.
Cons
Tutorial is abit cluttered. Everything feels like a mess to begin with.
I know its a small dev team but no voice acting. (Not a big complaint considering its an indie game).
Graphics are ugly at most areas.
Confusion, Confusions..... It's probably just me, but i was hell confused about everything.
I will play more tonight and post an update.

Well i dunno if i'd call the graphics ugly. You can definitely see it's running an older version of Source, but it's not like its repulsively ugly. And yeah, they could have done a bit more work on the tutorial i totally agree on that part :P. Anyway my immediate advice from 6 hours of gameplay so far would be: Get the Motra SMG, wear heavy armor, and give melee weapons the finger.
Gameplay wise, its nice.. Story though is horrible. Not that the story itself is bad but that everything is type speech with ALOT of backstory. Its pretty much a full out game but forced into a indie package. They would have done better with lower end CG breakups, some small video at beginning of game introducing wth is going on, or come up with a unique way to immersing you into the game. For the price its nice but man, it definitely needed some small voice acting or a rethinking of the presentation. I do love the RPg aspects, gunplay, power ups etc. The dying is pretty bad. You respawn right where you died up to 10 times then forced to go through a load screen then to a walk to door in dreamstate (not needed).. It needs a save state as well in missions. You can see why this game is being sold in that 15-18 dollar range. Personally, in the 10 hours i've played, its about a 6-6.5/10. I hope they get with the community and work on ALOT of things.
Graphics are ok but it is on a older source engine so expected as much. Tutorial is pretty bad. Its just small gif videos with text speech commentary. They def should have had in game (Use X to open doors etc).. Not everyone has the patience to watch 25 small videos to figure out how to do everything... Alot of potential but it falls fairly flat.
I've heard many complaints of the UI. It seems theres more negatives than positives so I think I'll pass.
Maybe if it gets really cheap I'll grab it.

What is wrong with the UI? I find it excellent to the total overblown crap we have been getting the last 10 years.
The UI in this game is what all PC games should strive for, it is superb.
I know it's probably early to say, but how's this game's replayability?MythPro1If you ever played borderlands or any mission base shooters, it will be like that... Personally, put in 12 hours and I feel its a over ambitious indie project. some real nice gameplay mechanics that just don't come together in the end.. I would say, get this game when its for 5 dollars or so. I'm chumping it up as a 16 or so dollar experiment.
