is it true that there will be NO gaining lvls and spending points in Fable 3?

if that is true that means it will be more of adventure game then RPG it will totaly ruin the game for me, i love to custom the character...

that is very stupid!!!. it will be like taking the action from an actiongame, i just cant see how this game could be a real RPG without Xp points... :|

Don't really remember but....wasn't Fable identical? you gained XP and you spent it on health upgrades, strength, etc, that certainly didn't ruin anything for anybody.

RPGs don't need XP points or levels to be RPGs. Also, character customising doesn't rely on experience points. I mean, what if your character just got skill points for finishing quests, or got better at things the more they did them. That would give you everything you need, without resorting to experience points.

So, exactly like Fable 2 then? I don't understand why the TC is surprised.

I don't see what the problem is Fable never had level ups. It was using xp points (like gold) to buy skills and upgrades.

What if they go with an Oblivion style on it? No experience points, just as you use the skills / abilities more they level up. There's lots of alternate ways to do it, you're just not looking for them.

It's a Fable game. You never level up in Fable.

They're already said they want to make it a more action-adventure game than an RPG so no surprise here really.

Well now I looked into it, hopefully it at least has levels for skills, what really disappoints me is the lack of health bar, but it might work if they make it entirely without a HUD, the lack of stats customization didn't really bothered me in WoW for example but...it needs an advanced skill tree. Peter's excuse is pretty weak...gamers couldn't understand how to make different types of XP? what kind of zombies played the Fable series if they can't even understand such a basic feature... Anyway, I'm getting it, no matter how casual they make it, I still want to believe that they are able to create a fun game like Fable 1 :P

So weapons and armors no longer require a specific level to be equiped or something like strength.
the lack of health barDanielDust
Great  They are turning it into the most simpliest rpg ever.

If i understand it correctly it will work like this:

Light sword... You swing it around more and more... It will change in size and so on... I think you can "enchant" the weapon... Anyway. If you become "evil" the weapon will change and grow into a more "evil" looking weapon with blood on it and so on... While if you are good it will look more like the shining knights sword...

Soo in theory... what make a game skill based? How fast you press "swing weapon"... Block? Your braiinn? Reaction time?

That, and a skill system kind of like oblivion. It's kind of like leveling, except there's a huge list of skills you can increase proficiency in through experience with that skill. I want it to be so that a brand new character can kill one of the hardest enemies with extreme amounts of difficulty, but it would be much less difficult with proficiency in many abilities.

Fable 3 isn't an RPG. Peter Molenyeaux straight up said it. http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=234727
