Well Fable 3 on PC is good news. Any ideas y they would do that after completely abandoning the platform? Also any chances of getting Alan Wake to pc?

The clue is in how MS are going to allow this game to be sold, it sounds like Fable 3 will only be available via retail and via GFWL's on demand service. In other words they suddenly don't want anything to do with steam :o . There is a good article here talking about why MS are doing this :-
http://pixelsmashers.com/?p=1683"
I get the feeling Microsoft have been a bit rattled with steam going to the Apple Mac. At the moment it may seem like there is no competition but Microsoft has a history of trying to nip any competition in the bud before it happens. I am pretty confident this will fail though, it is "too little, too late" most PC gamers love their steam way too much to be seduced by such pathetic efforts like this. In other words Fable 3 will bomb on the PC and once again the fault will be laid at the door of those "pesky pirates".
As for Alan Wake I would say the odds of that coming to the PC just shot up a fair bit.
Being a GFWL exclusive, I can see this not selling very well and piracy being blamed for gamers not wanting to deal with the GFWL platform.General_X
They must upgrade the GFWL before the release of Fable 3.
GFWL exclusive, that means that you can't buy it retail. You can only buy it one place and it will cost £40 :o You read that right, 40 (forty. That's four, zero) quid.
Microsoft have done untold damage to pc gaming, neglecting the platform, trying to sell their crappy console with dollar signs in their eyes.
I'm more than happy to buy games through steam, valve represent everything that's good about pc gaming. Microsoft, everything that is bad.
I'll stick to dragon age for now I think.
I think it's mostly due to Peter Monoleux that we get to see fable 3 on pc. He seems to be still emotionally invested in the pc despite not working on it at all recentlyas there have been news articles capturing his opinion on it every now and then. Hopefully it does well and we get to see more support from MS.

I want BLACK AND WHITE 3, DAMMIT!
Yeah, i can't see nothing wrong with GFWL either-- Oh wait! It's because it's not supported in my country!Nothing wrong with Steam and nothing wrong with GFWL.
Fable 3? Buy? Hell yes.

Because of...?They upgraded it and it works better now, but it's what it wants to be, the only way to improve it is to start again from the top and make a new client.

Since Fable 2 never came to PC, this decision was clearly made for more "important" reasons than throwing a bone to PC gamers.

Its only exclusive to GFWL for DD otherwise you can still buy it retail. So expect a more reasonable price of £25 on release day.
Fully agreed with Bojangles in giving us a B&W3.
on alan wake....dont hold your breath. nice to see fable 3 though but i suspect this is a natal stunt. they want to sell as many of those as possible so they may as well throw it at windows also. are MS back into PC gaming? well if they announce more games for windows coming from their own studios then sure and id love to see it. MS actually made crackin PC games. but like AW....i wouldnt hold by breath. like i said....i think its just a natal stunt and a one off. i hope im proven wrong but i dont think i will be.Well Fable 3 on PC is good news. Im pretty sure i read that the PC version was download from GFWL only to get us to pay for that garbage service.
The core of the Aces Team is still intact and working on a new flight sim. It wouldn't bother me one bit if the MS label isn't on it.When they start making Microsoft Combat Flight Simulators again...then I will trust Microsoft

I could list you everything that is wrong with GFWL but I just don't have the time.
I could list you everything that is wrong with Steam but I just don't have the time. besides you CAN buy it retail, as always people and their misinformationI don't like that i have to use GFWL but i'm gonna to get the game regardless as long as it turns out to be good.

not selling it on steam and instead selling it on a service no one uses unless the game forces it on them? another /facepalm at Microsoft.... they seem 10 steps behind valve when it comes to PC gaming and the way digital distribution should be handled. This release has nothing to do with microsoft caring about PC gaming...
You don't install it on LIVE....I know LIVE isn't that great, but it works, do you people even know what you're talking about? besides the people that can't read to save their lives and probably start chains of stupid rumors that it won't be sold retail. The retail game is just retail and you have LIVE achievements (like all the LIVE games) and multiplayer (if it has co-op, just like DoW 2 for example) but only if you buy it on LIVE, you'll have to use LIVE itself as a client, such as Steam, and they already sell Batman AA, Dirt 2, GTA IV, EFLC, etc.
God some people need to whine about everything even things that are not a problem, yes men, it's a conspiracy, it's only digital and even if it'll be retail you'll be forced to register and download it on LIVE./sarcasm
People buy retail games just fine, yeah it's sad that Steam won't get in on the action, but since when must all games be on Steam?
MS shot themselves in the foot (and have been limping more and more ever since....I'm surprised they haven't died yet in the PC gaming department) since they announced Halo 2 coming to PC for Vista only.
When MS couldn't provide a true DX10 game, only some piss poor console port that couldn't even come close to showing the true abilities of DX10 - this was their downfall. After this, they closed down their PC gaming department and no more was the Flight Simulator that many have come to love or any other MS supported PC game. Sure, MS tried to push a few things towards their GFWL, but the failure of Halo 2 on PC was their "nail in the coffin" to stop PC gaming.
MS put too much money into the Xbox to see it flop, they had to change direction and cut loses in other areas of the company (such as PC gaming) to make sure they could capitalize the best they could from what they had out there. MS wants people to pay for their 360 now, to play those exclusive titles they have on it instead of designing or porting PC versions.
It'll be a cold day in hell when PC gamers decide to go along with GFWL when there is Steam out there or D2D or hell, even EA's downloadable content. MS, once again, screwed themselves from a wonderful gaming platform due to piss poor management. They won't ever be able to fix what they screwed up.

Pretty much read my mind LOL. Seriously if all games were ported to linux I'd switch to google chrome OS install steam (which iz coming out for linux soon) and never use a microsoft product again. I wish all developers dumped dirext x and just started using Open GL againMolenyeaux probably fought for it. He wanted to see Fable 2 on PC, but MS wouldn't let him. Since he now has a more powerful role in how MS's games division is run, he can get his games on the platforms he wants them on.kieranb2000
I think that what happend... Evryone knows that Molyneaux is a pc gamers and that why he wants he games on the pc. It was him who wanted fable 3 on pc. But if Microft wants to push Natal on the pc then they must release ,more games on pc and not ony fable 3. Burt i would prefer Alan wake to come to pc instead of Fable 3.

ok im gonna be honest
i did not know what natal is
and now that I do, I regret looking it up. That looks so freaking stupid *shakes head*
To be honest thats my belief too, that Peter is responsible for the pc version and not MS.I think it's mostly due to Peter Monoleux that we get to see fable 3 on pc. If the next console is x86, except way more pc games.JigglyWiggly_damn, I already have too many to play.
If the next console is x86, except way more pc games.JigglyWiggly_there was a great article about multiplat development in custom PC: http://www.bit-tech.net/gaming/2009/08/18/the-problem-with-porting-games/1 x86 isnt a problem....devs have little difficulty dealing with the different CPU architectures. the trick is to know that you are making a multiplat project from day one and you know what you can and cant do. the real difficulty is dealing with the different higher level architectures (how the ram and CPU and GPU are all set up)..
Thank you. I thought I was the only one out there that missed the old CFS series. Come on Microsoft, Freelancer 2, CFS 3, and create another Rise of Nations. For the love of god, you can actually make money on those three franchises.....When they start making Microsoft Combat Flight Simulators again...then I will trust Microsoft
