Hey Guys,
I just tried running crysis demo on my sys.
Here are the specs:
Core 2 Duo 2.2ghz
2gb DDR2 ram
geforce 8500gt overclocked to 500mhz(256mb)
Driver version 6.14
Win XP SP2
DX 9c
200 gb hdd

blah blah...

Thing is I installed the game successfully.
It ran but the game wasn't playable.
The screen was just black and models were 'flickering'.
Couldn't make out a thing.
Kindly help me face this crysis.
Could u specify if this is a driver problenm or something else???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

PS Merry Christmas!

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_169.21_whql.html xp

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_169.25_whql.html vista 32bit

but the 8500gt is pretty weak for crysi. what settings are you trying to run? that sort of thing can happen if you turn the setting up to high for your card

Well,
I know the limits of 8500gt,
so i put everything on medium and was trying to run it at 800*600.

Can 8500gt handle this?
What do u think?

Thanks,

well yeah it should be able to handle that, i think you should run it at 1024x767 all on low no AA or AF and see what performance you get.

Your GPU is whats holding your rig back from running the game.

Sounds like a driver problem. Also like everyone else said, that will really be holding you back.
