Title says it all. My Razer Copperhead mouse disconnects/connects randomly during regular desktop use and while playing games. I looked into my power management and I disabled any kind of sleep or powersaving features.

I've tried every single USB port I have.

I tried updating the firmware but it will not update. I followed the firmware instructions step by step but it will not update like it should. I'm thinking it's broken.

If I have to buy a new mouse, I will.. but I'd like to know what more I can do to remedy this issue. Thanks in advance.

I would contact Razer to see what type of warranty options you have. I have never owned a Razer but my Logitech started to do the same thing before it eventually just died. I called Logitech and they replaced it no questions asked. I didn't even have to send the old one in.

My Speedlink mouse did this, what mine was the cable coming from the mouse had been bent and moved so often i think the wire inside had become broken, so if i left it still it would stay connected but even moving it an inch it would disconnect like yours.

It's a common issue, the wire in the mouse detaches itself very easily. It was a major complaint back in the day where a lot of them would fail after a few months. Try forcing the cable into the mouse.

i had this same problem with my habu and copperhead. it's fairly common with razers in my experience.

the problem on mine were caused by a thread of the main wires snapping inside the wire casing. to fix it, take apart your mouse, remove a section of the wire plastic covering (about 2cm's in front of the part of the wire that sticks out of the front of the mouse), find the stray wire, wrap it back around the rest of the wire, and electrical tape it back up as tight as you can.

reassemble the mouse and it should work.
