I am going to download FakeFactory sooner or later and was wondering.

1. Do i need to play Half Life to understand Half Life 2?

2. Should i play through and beat Half Life 2,Half Life 2: Episode One,Half Life 2: Episode 2, andHalf Life 2: Lost Coast before i install FakeFactory?

It's not really crucial that you play Half-Life, but if you don't you may be slightly confused about some minor things, nothing really all that important.

Still, you really ought to play Half-Life at some point. It's a classic.

1. You don't need to, but its highly recommended, since HL 1 is a fantastic game. Opposing Force is also brilliant. 2. Play through all of them (Lost Coast is not necessary, it's an unrelated tech demo), just so you can get the original HL 2 experience and then compare it to the Fakefactory changes.
