fallout 1 color problem.......

I'm new with PC gaming and i need a lil help with a problem im having playing fallout 1. The colors are a bit screwed up. Im sure its just a setting i have to change but i don't know how to do it. I'm playing it on a new laptop with windows Vista. if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

set compatibility mode to XP and run the game as an administrator. To do that simply right-click on the shortcut of Fallout 1, select properties, then click on compatibility tab after that select XP. Apply all the changes you made then right-click on the shortcut again and choose "run as administrator". That should help. cheers xD

thanks a lot dude it worked. i have another question though. im using a widescreen laptop but the game isnt in widescreen. how do i make the game play in a square and not take up the whole screen. thanks for your reply!

I'm glad i could help =] As for the widescreen thing, have you tired to set the resolution to 640x480? It's right under the compatibility mode. Although i'm not 100% sure if this will help, i never had that problem on my 19" LCD monitor.
