I was wondering if there was a way to run oblivion in the gamebryo engine that fallout3 runs with, i find that i can run fallout3 twice as smoothly as oblivion, and would really like to see if any mods are out that will let me do this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_SXc6t5iRg&fmt=18. It is definately possible but given how Crytek reacted when details of this amazing mod came out I'm not sure if mods like this are legal.thekodamanI don't see what Crytek/Cryengine has to do with Oblivion and Fallout 3 which are made by the same company and use the same engine, Fallout 3' engine being updated. It's like somebody's asking you if you can play a CS Source map in Left 4 Dead and you're saying that you can't play a CS Source map in Far Cry 2 because they would make it illegal.
Both games are on the same engine from what I understand, it's just that Fallout may be better optimized than Oblivion. I would say you should search for some mods that improve Oblivion's performance.
Hmm are u guys serious? =3 Oblivion runs better than Fallout 3 for me (3.00ghz, 7600gs, 1.50gb ram) Both on 1024.768, medium i get decent frames of Oblivion but 10-20 for Falloutjasopan
Is that just a single core? Your specs are kinda low for Fallout 3 which would explain.:?

Yep, single core isnt gonna do well in fallout 3, also that graphics card is also very week. If you were to run Oblivion and Fallout 3 on a modern system, you will see that fallout 3 runs smoothly than oblivion, due to the engine being more optimised. Oblivion would allways slow down when there are charactors on the screen, where as fallout 3 manages to maintain a decent frame-rate when there are charactors on the screen. Please Log In to post.
