To the OP. Yes, I did not make it out of the vault. That was how bored I was.
And no, that is not sarcasm.
So how did you break the addiction?!I actually couldn't stop playing it, I was having so much fun.

no, no it doesnt
i found that towards the end the character i made became so overpowered that nothing really posed any threat anymore and THAT is when i started to lose interest. but no, it wasnt boring

Second semester of university started!
I hate to be "that guy" but Fallout is one word, as in the fallout of radiation from a nuclear explosion.

Would it have been better if I said the Fallout franchise -- do we really need to be that literal? Regardless, FO3 is a joke when compared to 1 & 2.
im a programmer allCombinedWords have captials :p force of habit blah blah blah Didnt get out of the vault..wow! Thats dedication! I think the missions got boring because theyre all the same and I recently completed all Oblivion with all the game packs which is basically the same.Oh no, I was referring to the OP. He wrote FallOut, as if it was two words combined. I didn't even read the whole thread.

Fallout 3 is a farcry from what Fallout was. The humor, approach, grit, and wit are all warped and distorted to the point of this becoming just another RPG with Fallout-esque cameos.
The problem lies in the moment-to-moment, being terribly boring as Bethesda focuses on big picture storytelling. The result becoming good memories overall but a terrible 2 hour play session.

wow, that's pretty sad on a few levels. 1. Why wouldn't you look into the game more before buying it? 2. Why wouldn't you finish the tutorial and actually play for a an hour or two? well, they still got your money =pI agree and had a similar experience during my first run through of Oblivion. If you are playing without mods in either game, eventually your character becomes so powerful that you just walk through the game destroying everything without effort. That's why you have to be a little imaginative. I'm playing both games with tons of mods now...without clothing...and I'm trying to use mostly my bare hands and blunt objects as weapons. It makes for a much more interesting game...and more difficult. That's the beauty of these games...you can play them almost any way you want to, and every play through has the potential to be unique.no, no it doesnt

Played at a friends so no $$ lost, =p
It was very boring for me - there might have only been a few minutes of entertainment for every few hours of walking around the dull gameworld. The only thing that kept me playing was the main quest, which turned out to be a total waste of time.
I've tried getting back into it since then, but it simply doesn't have the replayability or variety of choices that Fallouts 1 and 2 had.
I think the game is fun. My only real problem with it is that I can hardly ever find any quests outside of the main quest. Shouldn't people at least have exclamation points over their heads or some other type of indicator that would suggest a potential quest like in WoW?
well i bought it day 1 and played it. i got up to rivet city ,mainly following the main quest, and stopped playing. then a few weeks back i restarted literally pretending to be an explorer in an apocalypse. having a lot of fun with it. i have a couple of companions and we're like a little "don't **** with us" kinda party. also i like the choices of good and bad you get. like generally i'm a bad ass in the world (even got a bounty)..but then i discovered paradise falls and i didn't like the slavers. so i recused the kids then turned around went back inside and killed every last slaver. the only thing i don't want to come across is a deathclaw.
says the mass effect guy..... lol I like mass effect man ,Its better than grey gloomy and boring fallout 3 (at least in my opinion) yeah but mass effect is just flash, neither the combat or the levels are nothing more than they look, but in fallout 3 they are both massive, besides mass effect is more or less the same thing til you complete it, and nothing really amazing happens, and the combat isnt fun at all, its neither action good, or rpg good neither they use skilsl liek stealth or lockpicng and repair, mass effect its too damn simple and i dare to say an empty exprience compared to fallout 3[QUOTE="dakan45"][QUOTE="neo8888"] It is boring like hell ,i want my money back neo8888
