QUOTE(vaultguy @ Oct 7 2008, 01:38 PM) Looks like the reviews are starting to pour in now. I'm going to try to collect all of them in one convenient thread, with scores and summaries of what they think
1.PC Gamer France, 93%- Good variety of quests, lots of replayability
2.PC Gamer Sweden, 81%- VATS is nice, but there is too much content in a game world that is too small, NPCs feel lifeless
3.GMC Italy, 9/10- Good atmosphere and turn-based combat, lackluster AI and mini-games
4.OXM 10/10- "Between its engrossing story, ginormous world, well-crafted RPG side and white-knuckle FPS combat, Fallout 3 completely, utterly gives you your $60 worth."
5.Click! 8.75/10- * Gameplay - 9.25 (Playability: 9.5, Longevity: 9.5, Variety: 9, AI: 9); * Graphics - 8.25 (Appearance: 8.5, Animations: 8 ); * Sound - 9.5 (Music: 9.5, Effects: 9.5); * Technical quality - 7.38 (Fluency: 7, Loading times: 8.5)
6.PC Gamer UK, 90%- Excellent dialogue, combat, depth and minigames, but MQ is shortish and it's easy to miss things if you're not paying attention
7.PC Action Germany, 90%- scores apparently start out at 100, and then points are deducted. -4% handling of the pipboy could be easier, -2% boring dungeon crawling, -1% dreary environment, -1% character moving too slow, -1% inventory has console like feel to it.
8.PCPowerPlay Australia gave it 9/10: Pros - Brilliant art direction; So much content!; Three Dog, yeah! Cons - Odd character physics; No timed autosave; Map isn't too clear.
9.PSM3 give it 90- details unkown
10.OXM UK 9/10- + Ridiculous value for money, + rich, rewarding world, + some moments of true genius, + plenty of rollicking action, - some sloppy execution
11.LEVEL(Czech Republic) Score: 10/10- "A vast and open world of unimaginable possibilities opens in front of you in Fallout 3. Great story, flawless combat system, and the option to choose your own way makes it a hot candidate for game of the year. [Nov 2008]"
12.SCORE, 93%- liked atmosphere, setting, dialogue, quests, combat, and Fallout-y "crazy stuff". Dislikes disorientation, AI, VATS camera, weak radiation. Thinks it will be too Oblivion for some, and not enough for others. "Dignified successor" to Fallout franchise.
13.PC Gameplay, 90%- liked open world, quests, combat and graphics; disliked high system requirements, voice acting, jerky framerates
14.PCPlayer Denmark, 9/10- loves the atmosphere. 7.0 graphics, 8.0 Music/Sound, 9.0 Gameplay, 10.0 Quality/Quantity, 10.0 Reviewer's Personal, meaning: They didn't screw it up
15. IGN 9.6/10 -The atmosphere and ****are everything you could ask for and more. The landscapes are wonderful.Excellent voice acting and a soundtrack that completely fits the game's mood. The sound effects aren't bad either..A rare combination of excellent combat and deep role-playing.A more focused experience than much of what Bethesda has created in the past that begs to be played for hours and hours. This is one game you won't soon forget. didnt like a few camera issues and character animations
16. Gamespy 5/5 - LikedMassive, highly detailed environment; engaging storyline; gorgeous visuals; haunting score; excellent presentation. Didn't likeVATS can make things a bit too easy; some technical issues here and there; lots of time spent walking.
17. 1UP A
