I've been hyped for fallout 3 for some time, and yet the more and more I look at the gamplay the more im starting to get turn off to it. I would have to say the main reason is the ability to stop time and decide where, and who your going to shoot. I cant see any reason they would incorporate this into the gamplay. How hard could a game possibly be when anytime your in a tight spot, all you have to do if freeze time, toss a frag, then watch the subsequent "scene" in which your delicately placed frag kills and dismembers multiple people(I like that though). To me this style of gameplay is more deserving of the genera: turn based action RPG. Any thoughts?

Which is exactly why it is in there, Bethesda is appealing to a completely differen't audience than the original Fallout fanbase; while attempting to grab a few of the original fans with sudo turn based features like this.

Frankly I think they are going to mess up both experiences by trying to appeal to conflicting preferences at the same time.

I think it's a clever blend of real-time and turn-based. Bethesda isn't exactly new to the rpg game; they know what they're doing.

I'm just as excited as ever for the release.

I never played the original Fallout games but I think this one looks pretty cool. And honestly, this topic has been discussed in dozens and dozens of threads before. No one's going to be able to fairly judge the game until it comes out and that's all it gets down to.

They are staying true to the original format of the first two Fallout games while incorpating the new First Person Oblivion style perspetive. I think it is an interesting change and it hints that this games leans more towards turn based action then real time. The first two were the same way but in third person, so I can't complain.

I think it'll be cool, but the VATS looks incredibly cheap, every time I see it used in a gameplay video it's a one shot kill.

VATS isn't mandatory from what I can tell. Just don't use it and play it realtime, that's what I plan on. Well sometimes if I want to mess around and watch heads and limbs fly off in slowmo I will. If you need aim assistance with a mouse you should stick to consoles.

I just hope they fix the feel of the gravity and movement that Oblivion had, it's like you jumped up, floated for a second, and glided back to the ground. Annoyed the hell out of me for some reason.

It gives people the option to fight using a turn based system (like in previous Fallout games) instead of like an action RPG.

And you won't always score a direct hit. The combat you have seen was for demo purposes. Whether you hit the target and for how much damage will depend on your characters skills.

The gameplay sucks IMHO. The action sequences looks too boring with VATS. Poor physics coupled with sub standard graphics is what we will get on release date. It might have a good storyline though. Im guessing this will get a pretty low rating by gamespot.

did any of you actually play fallout 1and 2

im really really dissappointed ....the game developers should be ashamed of themselves for ruining this. turning fallout into a first person shooter is stupid. (look at how neverwinter nights sucks) oblivion and morrow wind are crap games.

who really cares about visuals? i have sooooooooooo many pc games, played soooooooo many games and most of the most pretty graphics games really blow.

why change something that works and was fun to play? look at what hollywood does to movies when they remake them ...the remake sucks.

the idiot developers for fallout did not spend any time on the game...WOW pretty graphics, different UI, 3d pers. who cares...(lets take oblivion and put fallout graphics on it can call it a new game...what bs.

gameplay crap for sure.

all the clueless people on the net saying how awesome it is because its like oblivion, bio shock ...etc.. are sheeple. yay great lets have another cookie cutter game ....that will be put away after the 1st hour for being lame

is everyone on here sheeple?

why isnt anyone plotting to burn down game developers that produce crap games???
