Hello!

Im looking for a RPG to buy, i think i will get Fallout 3.
Someone can give-me some details about the game?

1) Is it possible to beat this game with melee weapons?
Or they are just a cookie feature?

2) I always see screens of the character wearing the same type of armor in later levels of the game.
I know that the game have many cloths to get along the way. But in the end, we are limited to use only 1 option?

3) I hated, really hated, at the point to not play until the end, the Oblivion leveling system.
Whats the point to get stronger if EVERYTHING gets too? The most ridiculous balancing system that ive always seen.
Bethesda did this to Fallout too ?

4) The storyline is good?

Sorry for questions guys, but the dolar price is high right now. I dont want to waste money in void.

Hugs.

It is fact for even Bethesda says so.

TC, the game is beatable with a melee character, there are some good melee weapons. There's also 4-5 armors for the endgame, but they're a little unbalanced when you put it in context with the prequels. Mods fix that, though. There is no level scaling. You can easily run into a camp of super mutants at level 1. The story is so-so... I found the ending a bit lacking, but there are some sidequests with good plot.

What about a meaningful dialogue system with consquences? Actual choice making that means something for character development.. For me I could have gotten past the level scaling if the fact Oblivion's character development system really didn't even need to be added on to it when it was so shallow it could have been completely ignored.

The writing isn't exactly Shakespeare, but there are skill and stat checks in conversations. Some choice and consequence, too. The Tenpenny Tower quest comes to mind... but it seemed to me as if Bethesda are just now learning how to do that.

The dialogue is annoying at best and the melee/ranged combat is clunky, but the rest of the game is top notch.

it earned the 9. and Oblivion should've been 8 at best.

I liked it but it goes without flaws. I felt like the guns in the game were meaningless. Melee weapons were more powerful than guns. Hell, fistfighting was more powerful, even without investing attribute points in it. Some of the "dungeon areas" were pointless and not worth exploring, for mere scraps. The over encumbment once again annoys me to death.. Everytime you journey out, you will gather more loot than you can muster.. And it's hard not to hoard things because you need to make money, which you have so little of..I've played about 4 hours of Fallout 3 and I'm so broke, I can't afford anything. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I'm usually good at RPG games and money is usually never a problem. Most of the quests are not even worth doing.. The rewards are small, and going on that one trip for the quest can cost you lots of repair bills, and even unecessary deaths that will at the end cost way more than the reward you will get. In the end, Ive become very frustrated. I never have enough ammo, guns, armor are in constant need of repair and I don't have money, and I find myself spending so much money on medicine to keep myself alive on these worthless quests.. The VATS system although great, is useless without a powerful weapon.. like a frag grenade, rock it launcher, missle launcher or the like. And added realistic features like the character having a hard time reloading really pits you to your death in tight situations.. If it wasn't for the story, dialogue, I would probably quit on Fallout 3. And the PC graphics aren't that great, even with everything maxed out completely. From a distance, you can see a ton of jaggies on objects, buildings, and other entities. There are similarities between Fallout 3 and Oblivion, that are inevitable, but despite all these flaws, I still have motivation left to play Fallout 3 for the story. Unlike Fallout 3, I couldn't stand Oblivion.
