Hey All, (**Possible Spoiler**) (*Spoiler**) I'm in the middle of playing fallout new vegas, about 10 hours or so into the actual game and I already have the Archimedes ll solar weapon enabled after I completed the helios one related quest and I diverted the power to the solar weapon. I then got the Euclid's c-finder. I used the actual solar weapon a few times but all of a sudden it stopped working on me, it doesn't recharge (I wait more than 24 hours) and the one time I got it to recharge it looks like its going to fire but it never does. Does anyone else have this probelm? I tried loading the game from a point where I know it did work and yet it still doesn't work for me, restarting the game didn't help either. Also, does anyone know if Nvidia is going to put out a patch for the choppy framerate issues and slowdowns around NPCs? Thanks

Nvidia release once a driver that made fallout 3 run like crap. But i would say this is mostly obsidian's problem with the game. If you want to improve the framerate you bettter wait for patches and new drivers and try multiple combinations of both and see which one works better for you. Thats what i did with fallout 3.

Thanks for the help! Any ideas on why the Archimedes ll laser isn't firing for me, I had it working last night when I was playing the game and all of a sudden today its not working at all. I'm thinking it could be a bug with the game or something.

That is clearly a bug of the game. I had a similar problem in another game. Well what can you do? reinstall and start a new game, or you can try messing with it in geck or you can get the code of the weapon and spawn another hopping that it will work.

Bethesda/Obsidian have admitted that there are more than a few bugs that are currently plaguing New Vegas. I'm sure everyone who has cranked up the game have experienced some form of glitch. While I don't see frame rate slow downs around NPCs, or rotating heads (:P), Vegas sometimes CTDs on me and when I reload my quicksave/autosaves have been erased. It's a pain at times, but they're working on it. Bethesda has put out some excellent games and I'm not ready to turn on them...yet, so long as the patches flow freely :D. I say just sit tight and update New Vegas regularly.

If you are having a choppy framerate then you might want to try this fix I posted in another thread :-

For those having framerate issues with Fallout NV you might want to try this, download this file :-

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34778

Unrar it to the Fallout NV folder (where you can find falloutNV.exe) then start the game up. If a message comes up saying "detecting hardware, setting to medium settings" then it means FalloutNV is using the new file proplerly. Now just whack the settings back up and you should find your Fallout NV experience a hell of a lot smoother than it was before. It doesn't remove ALL of the stuttering but it does make it a lot smoother.

It seems to work for a majority of people but there are one or two reporting no change. I certainly saw a massive difference using this file.

I just tossed that in my directory for grins and I noticed a marked improvement. Thanks a lot.
