Transvestite Super-Mutants FTW!

Read some of the text from the screenshots...it *is* just basically FO3...VATS and all. I'm sure it will have improvements though so it'll probably still be a great game. I don't know why, but I was under the impression it was going to be a different style of game.
Yeah, pretty much looks exactly like FO3 (not a bad thing I guess)...but I thought this was supposed to be more like the originals?Renevent42
It's running on the Fallout 3 engine, and the gameplay will be the same, but it's being designed and written by some of the guys who made the originals. So it should be different there.

I always say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." I had a blast with Fallout 3. It did lack in some of the more RPG areas and the story, but I liked the gameplay mechanics overall.

I liked FO3 as well, a lot actually. I was hoping for something a little closer to the originals though...like more tactical combat and stuff like that.I enjoyed Fallout 3, but my god, it was so ******* unstable! I don't care if they keep the same engine and don't improve the visuals much, just make it so that it can run without crashing on a clean, well maintianed computer!
Also, it would be much appreciated if they improved the combat outside of VATS. Or make it VATS only combat. I loved VATS, but the combat outside of it was horrible.
Judging by those scans, graphically it looks just as Fallout 3, which in my opinion isn't a problem. I am glad they've changed the dominant colour, grey, into a more open colour ( orange? maybe I'm wrong though ), because seriously I was getting annoyed by all that unfriendly "grey".
P.S: That She Mutant looks ugly...
I'm perfectly happy with New Vegas using the same engine and graphics as Fallout 3. A graphical overhaul wasn't what the game needed: It just needed gameplay refinement and fixing some of the bugs and glitches. Since some of the guys who worked on the original Fallout 1 + 2 are working on this one, I can see them adding a nice amount of injokes and call-backs. That, and a rambling post-apocalyptic story isalmost exactly what I want from a Fallout game.
I was not a huge fan of Fallout3, but this one has me interested. The enemies look like they will be better and Obsidian is good with dialogue and story aswell.
Plus with some of the dudes who worked on Fallout1/2 being on board here, Im sure they will add some cool little things to make it more "Fallout-ish" so to speak.
I sunk a crap load of money into Fallout 3 with all the ridiculous DLC, I think for the next fallout I will do the sane, sensible thing and WAIT till the GOTY edition and get everything at a reasonable price rather than be nickle and dimed for game content.
