I finally recieved Fallout 1 and 2 in the mail and can't wait to play em. Problem is that I am using DxWnd to window the game. I have tried different version od DxWnd and nothing works. Basically what heppens is that the windowed Fallout pops up but it is a black screen. I can hear sound but that is it.

My graphics card is a nVidia GeForce 6800.

I can't tell you how bad I want to finally play this game. Any help would be appreciated.

Yep, tried that along with trying to change the colors to 256 and also run as 640 x 480. Nothing is working yet.

Why don't you just play the game full screen?

I have a wide screen so the graphics are stretched. Looks jacked up.

Well, I can understand why, but I suggest you don't. Fallout is the type of game which needs as much concentration as possible, it'll only make it more fun, immersion and such, you get it.
Anyways, it's an old game, I reckon that program you're using is newer then the game itself, I doubt it's ever going to work.

Thanks, but I couldn't find the settings for that. If I have a laptop display can I still do that?

For laptops with widescreens.. Nvidia also has settings in the display options under "Digital Flat panel Settings"..

For my laptop i set it up to fixed aspect ratio scaling.. but on my desktop i let me monitor do the scaling so i set that option to Monitor scaling...
