I agree, this is their last chance, but I have faith in the team. Sure, they have released some real stinkers, but this is the team behind Sands of Time and Splinter Cell. At their worst, yeah, they're amongst the worst, but at their best they are amongst the very best.
If a company has produced greatness, it can produce greatness. I am more than willing to give them to benefit of the doubt - one more time. I'll be buying it on day one.
I don't advocate try before you buy piracy, if only because it fudges the numbers in a way that hurts everyone. Imagine if 10% of pirates were just try before you buy types. Even if they all went and bought it afterwards, those picacy figures are still there, and companies are clearly keeping a close eye on them. I can't even try to speculate on the actual numbers, but whether it's 10% or 1%, it's not helping.
I appreciate and understand all the pro arguments in favour of try before you buy, regardless of the methods involved, so don't bother to explain the positives - I already know. I also already know that most or all games should have demos made available, and it's unfair of them to try and force players to buy blind, but perceived piracy is no different from actual piracy, I would imagine, as far as the impact on the industry goes, because developers don't seem to look at their bottom line as much as what their bottom line wouldbe if there weren't quite so many pirates.
