Far Cry 2's graphics

Anyone saw the latest Far Cry 2 pics? Man it was dissapointing...It still looked good, but nowhere near the first few shots that were shown.

Not disappointing, really - I thought it looked excellent. By the time it comes out, it may look a bit bad compared to other shooters released at that time, but oh well.

But you can't say that the physics, weather cycle, fire ect isn't spectacular.

Will its graphics be better than crisis? I mean will it require a better pc than crisis ?7guns

No, its graphics wont be better, and it wont require a better PC unless its really poorly optimized (which I doubt)

Yes game play is important, we all get that, this topic is about graphics. Just because people are criticising graphics in this particular moment in time doesn't mean they think graphics>game play.

It will almost definitely be rated M, due to violence, gore, and probably language. The original Far Cry had violence and gore, and I can't remember whether it had language or not. But it's safe to say it will get an M rating.

far cry 2 will have far better graphics then any other game coming to consoles including gears of war 2 and killzone2 it is going to be one of the best looking games coming out destructible and flammable enviorments i cant wait to get my hands on it hey does anyone know when its coming out I'm pretty sure it will be oct 31 08

Several of the really old games are far more fun then most of the Newest games that has amazing graphics.

nah, not true. older games are not more fun. its just that were getting older and the older we get, the harder it is to amuse us. kind like that first line of coke. you spend the rest of the night tryin to get that same feelin.

So yes, Maybe I've had my great lines of coke and I'm addicted to them.
Because only the best is good enough, and my Coke is Great gameplay and fun that you have by playing a videogame.

Why would? Because it's not using the same engine as Crysis. And not same people.

Developers have said that they want to keep graphics on the same level with consoles. So that means those aged consoles have to have as good picture as PC's.

Well graphics are important, the TC was just making a comment about how he didnt they were as good as the original screens shown!

My opinions towards the game have already changed, as it already looks really great by now.

• 3.2GHz Pentium 4 or 2.66GHz Pentium D (looks like it takes advantage of multi-threading)
• 1GB of RAM
• 256MB GeForce 6800-series GPU or Radeon X1650

The game also requires Shader Model 3, so it won't work with ATI's older X800 GPUs. By comparison, the minimum specs officially required for Crysis are a 2.8GHz Pentium 4 and a Radeon 9800 Pro. However, a machine based on those specs would be reduced to a gibbering wreck by Crysis at anything approaching half-decent settings.

Meanwhile, the recommended system requirements for Far Cry 2 are as follows:

• Core 2 Duo or Athlon 64 X2 5200+
• 2GB of RAM
• 512MB GeForce 8600 GTS or Radeon X1900
