Yesterday I tried to install the OEM dvd version of farcry. The installation process went horrible, the machine was very slow with weird noises inside. The mouse lagged badly. Then when it's done the machine frooze. When I forced restart the machine frooze on the windows loading screen. Then when I restarted again the computer says

lsass.exe - Bad Image

And there is a black screen and I can't do anything at all. So I had to reformat the entire hard drive and reinstall windows.

Can someone PLEASE tell me what's going on here?

Bad CD/DVD drive?DirkVDV01
I just reinstalled farcry. According to what I have searched it's a hard drive failure and is very tedious to fix so I just decided to reformat. The optical drive is new and of a good brand so that can't be it. According to what I read it's some error in the hard drive where some critical file of windows got misplaced due to the system freezing etc... But I'm trying to see if Farcry is known to cause this problem.

I know what Far Cry is, and I know what OEM means (Original Equipment Manufacturer). I just have no clue what Far Cry OEM means. Are you perhaps talking about Far Cry Retail? I wasn't aware that OEMs included a generic version of Far Cry with their systems, which is all I can guess that means. What version of Far Cry are you running, perhaps that is a better question.

I wasn't replying the guy above, not you. I got a DVD version of farcry that includes 64bit version along with the 32 bit with the CPU I bot a while ago. Now that I decided to install it my computer got screwed up. I was wondering if that was a random error with the hard drive (very common according to my searches) or farcry specific. I know that Farcry is a game with serious compatibility issues, like it doesn't support many optical drives.

I use the 32bit version of windows and installed the 32bit version on the DVD.
