Sorry man, but there's no way this can be good. You may not have realised, or even known, but Uwe Boll is directing this movie, and every single one of his movies are crap. He simply makes movies based on games, and makes them terribly, and somehow gets his money from a tax loop hole. I can't explain it, but there's pretty much no chance this movie will be good. Â
I don't think it'd be Crytek that sold the rights, it would probably be Ubisoft that did. Anyway Uwe Boll directing anything is a bad sign. He has got to be the worlds worse director ever!

I for one hope they make it. Could it be worse thand "Doom", "Resident Evil" or "Silent Hill"? Hey anyone remember that dreadfull "Wing Commander" movie. Can't be any worse than any of those.

if the farcry film has the same enemy quotes as the farcry game (including bite me, you're going down, i'm gonna take you out, eat this, suck this, you're mine) then the film will probably become a token film for gay culture
i would like to see a fps game-film done from a purely first person perspective, though - it's very do-able in the right hands, so i welcome all fps game-films, since one's bound to try it eventually, and maybe make a half decent run of it
there are many other games coming to film, and some of them have to be good sooner or later - silent hill was half decent... although the way they took elements of sh2 and spliced it into sh1 ruined the integral symbolism of the game, and made the film a little nonsensical - but that aside it's probably the best game-film ever made - it would be so, so easy to top it, though
anyway, i think the moral of the story is that uwe boll is an idiot

Well if Boll is directing it will at least have some good comedy factor to it just like the rest of his movies. I wonder what major stars he will cast in this though?
Yeah, Uwe Boll = bad news. With all the crap he's been getting from gamers, it truly baffles one to see studios continue to send ideas for maiming by that hack. Someone brought up Resident Evil here. Man, if this movie is HALF as good as Resident Evil I'll buy the "limited edition" dvd. RE is the LOTR of movies based on games, as far as I'm concerned. I will most certainly see the next one when it comes out in fall.
