Steam does have buggy games too. Just take a look at Vampire: Bloodlines. I'm unable to play the game.

What kind of problems have you had with Bloodlines? I'm curious, because I have that downloaded from Steam as well. I haven't ran into any bugs.

Unofficial patches? Try K-lite codec pack, maybe that'll help? (If this is video related...) Latest drivers?

Ultimate Doom/Doom II.

Make sure you get Doom Legacy or zDoom or something, though.

That sucks, Mara. It's a great game. Sorry you're having trouble. It may indeed be a codecs issue, like Artur says.

I got the 4.5 unofficial patch, K-lite and 169.25 NVIDIA driver. I know there's 169.28 beta drivers now too, but I haven't had time to get it yet.

I know you're probably joking, but I agree. I always play it when waiting for other things to install or some other resource-heavy task to finish.

The Witcher for singleplayer and COD4 for multiplayer (you just have to remember to setup your firewall to let COD4 and PunkBuster through it).

RK-Mara, latest sound drivers, all the C++ crap and latest NET framework redistributable and all that (I don't actually know what they do, never bothered to learn but some games require them)? You can see if they are installed in Add/remove programs. Install Quicktime just to be safe. If you have 64 bit system, try this:

Sorry for the off-topic stuff.

These are old but they were great!!!

Quake 2, Starcraft, Diablo and Half-Life

The more updated list would be.

Couter-Strike Source, Battlefield 2, Call of Duty 4

Oh fav game?

To many to choose from.

Off the top of my head on PC: Operation Flashpoint, Half Life, Ground Control, Deus Ex - but that is being selective - without thinking through.
