Team Fortress 2.

Can´t really mention just one,so besides the big names such as Doom,COD,Quake,Unreal,HL and so on.......I would say Clive Barker´s Undying,Exhumed,Dark Forces and Hexen 2.

just for fun: battlefield series, cant wait for bad company 2

i will give you the obvious and say Crysis games, but Stalker games are really cool, Clesr Sky is good too once you get past the Swamps, the graphics are very good, if you got the GPU for it.

HL2, no doubt. Very few shooters manage to reach that level of coherent intensity and epicness.

Half Life 2.

Halo 3 and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 for MP

Bioshock for SP

Team Fortress 2 and Battlefield 2/2142.

Crysis and COD 4

I have no overall favourite, but Deus Ex, Half-Life series, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2, No One Lives Forever 1 & 2, Unreal, Return To Castle Wolfenstein, Clive Barker's Undying, Far Cry and the original Doom and Hexen would all feature in my top ten favourite shooters.

For Tactical FPS, Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield, original Ghost Recon, SWAT 4 and Operation Flashpoint all deserve a mention.

All Call of Duty-ies and Wolfenstein.
