Games NOT on that list are: Hitman: Absolution (good but not favorite) Crysis 3, Deadspace 3, Dishonored, Risen 2, Stronghold 3, Warframe and spec ops: the line.

There were some duds too.  Diablo III was a snorefest.  Dear Esther was a better cure-all for insomnia than even Blizzard's efforts.  Evoland was dumb.  Binary Domain, Tomb Raider, Sleeping Dogs and Max Payne 3 were cool too, but I don't think they're essential as major titles.  They are fun while they last, even if Square-Enix's two games have more flaws than they should.
