P.S. I think its a bit of a silly question, like asking which is a better movie, Godfather 1 or 2? They both are so good it doesnt matter. That is the way I feel about GTA, all 3 are so fantastic it really doesnt matter. But the 80s own and thats why Vice City is the best.

Hah yeah I remember the first time I did the remote controlled chopper! It took me FOREVER! but I played the game a second time and got through it on like the 1st or 2nd try. Its a lot easier after you have done it once before.Â
Nothing tops the mansion with the helicopter on the roof! Plus there was the downtown apartment that also had a helicopter. I cant believe they didnt have a place like that in SA.Â
An the Vegas part of SA was my least favorite I guess because I hate Vegas, but the LA and SF areas were fantastic!
Vice city, it had a great vibe. It's still one of the best games I've ever played. I think I had 98% completion on that game. Damn, now I want to play it again....

by any objective analysis, san andreas is the best gta, despite being more of the same for the third time running, the game is utterly amazing in just about all respects - it takes the gameplay groundwork laid out by the earlier games and just takes it in an amazing direction
i've spent hundreds of hours with gta1, 2 and london, and vice city (i skipped most of 3, didn't like it then or now) and i was still amazed and enthralled by what san andreas did
but that said, i like to put objectivity in a bag and throw that bag in a river and throw that river into space, because i far, far prefer vice city in just about all ways, despite it being a worse game, the 80s setting and general feel of the game just fits with me far better
prefer vice city, but san andreas is better - and gta4, love it or hate it, will be even better
GTA3 - For the feeling back in 2001 of "WOAH A 3D CITY" and the funny radio adverts beat all the others. GTAVC - For the 80's theme and the sound track GTASA - The most content, better missions, bigger and just evolved soo much over the previous titles.
SA would be perfect if it was set in the 80's with the sound track. Also if it was as funny as GTA3.

gta3 by far for me. Vice city was way too short and easy, and the cities were really small. San Andreas was better, but i felt that it was big for no reason, you barely used a third of the map for anything, and all the extra mini games i played once. Also SA was easy, i beat it in 2 weeks. There was a lot of wasted stuff in san andreas. Gta3 was perfect for me. It was big, but all of the locations were fairly easy to remember. I thought the missions were a lot harder than the other games, and i also thought they were more fun.
Other great things about gta3 were that limbs and heads popped off when you hit people with the sniper rifle, and blew off with explosives (great because it was so comical), gta3 had the most varied sountrack selection and it was all good, it was harder than the other games, and the gangs were all awesome.
