Hard question! i voted for HL2, since i liked them all though, however the lenght and stuff made HL2 get my vote. However i think HL2: episode 2 is the best and must refined hl game yet. As it should be imo. But i was just so blown away the first time i played HL2 that it got my vote. and without HL2 i would not have episode 2 ;)

Half-Life 1.

It started it all, and yet I can still start it up today and be blown away.

The starting train sequence was a brilliant move, and while the zen levels were the greatest, I think we can forgive that :P

Plus where else can you overcook a meal in a microwave :P

and let's not forget the Opposing Force, one of the greatest FPS expansion ever. Couple this with the timeless Half Life, you get a package that completely outshines HL2 and its episodes.

I probably liked Opposing Force and Episode 2 the most. Episode 2 is on the list, so I voted for that.

Yep the original rocks, train sequence was cool, loved the ending, actually quite liked zen, plus its huge and takes ages to finish, only far-cry has matched it for length till complete time.

episode 2 is the best of the lot cuz the 5 hours there is better than any 5 hours in the other games, but it's tough to vote against hl & hl2, cuz they were over 12-15 hours of gameplay each. i went with hl2 in the end, but if episode 3 comes out, i'm voting for episodes 1 to 3 combined (barring a disastrous episode 3), as in i'd vote for hl3. until the real hl3 comes out, hopefully.

How? It had no new enemies or weapons (in fact, it didn't even have all the weapons from the normal game) and it was unbelievably short for a Half-Life game. It did add the HD pack, sure, but then that also upgraded the other two HL games to look just as good, so it had no graphical advantage over them.

Not to say it was bad, I liked it quite a lot and it was a worthy addition. But there's just no denying it didn't exactly feature any new content or that it wasn't impressive for its length by any means. Why did you like it more?

Half Life 2. I actually think its better than the first. I loved the whole 80's communist USSR thing when you walked out of the train station. I hate the episodes though. I would rather just have like 2 8 hour expansions or something.

Episode 2, just because it takes the best parts of all of them into one game, and answers the most questions about the story, albeit, creating a lot more in the process.
