If you were to pick between a Sniper, Assault Soldier, Medic or an Engineer, who would you go for and why? I'm not just talking about BC2, I'm refering to games overall.

Although Sniper/Recon is one of the most hated classes, I actually like them. People say that snipers just sit back and pick off the people doing the work, and while this is true for a lot of players, it does not account for all. Even if they are sitting there picking off enemies, it is doing a great favour to their team imo, because it reduces the amount of enemies that your team will face, and help them complete the objectives.

What is your favorite soldier class and why?

Sniper FTW - just watch me snipe people in Surf Ski 2 map with AWP on CS 1.6 - I'm a human aimbot (what my friend told me seeing me in CS ;)

Probably would have said different if you were using a real gun, you know like the Scout. Then he'd probably ask why your leg shots weren't killing them. Then you'd be the human hitmarker, if CS had hitmarkers, lol.

I voted medic because it's a class that lets you really help your team, and keeps you in the thick of things while still operating "behind the scenes". It's a more interesting class to play, I think, because your goal isn't so much to kill the enemy, it's to stay alive so you can heal your teammates.

Second to that would be sniper, in exactly the capacity Resistance_kid described. Sitting back picking off enemies is boring and does nothing for my ego personally. But sneaking around and flanking their offensive or defensive front from a high vantage point to open up an opportunity for your team to push through? Staying concealed just behind your team's front line and then seizing the perfect opportunity to take out a gunner's nest? That's good times and good gameplay right there.

Assault is probably my least favorite class to play, unless it involves being the point man with a shotty.

Yep. Sniper is about extreme tactics and the ability to stay undetected. It's extremely fun imo. And for those who say that Snipers don't help with objectives are wrong. Snipers can just as good at capturing objectives as the rest of the team. As a matter of fact, the pistol is one of the most accurate weapons, and it cauases some epic damage.

I voted medic.

I would say I spend most of my time in BC2 and TF2 as the medic.

Great sense of teamplay i find, and a nice stream of points of course!

I prefer MEdic, they are usually competent enough fighters, and have the side bonus to keep a team going, making them a pain in the back in almost any game.

In truth all classes have thier spot, it is rare to see a class in a game that is utterly useless. But wheremost classes usually have one envioment they excell at Medics specialty are never really hampered by the location the fighting is in.

A runnerup would be the support type (Diddnt think it was in the options) depending on the game, thsee usually have big freakin guns, for supressing, and things like restocking ammo, welding and such. Which would be my second pick.

In general I prefer the classes that makes the team keep being operational, then the actural Fighters... So... A Squads Mom?

Assault. Assault rifles are flexible weapons that do the work both at close and long range, and assault class usually had access to kindy items as flash bang grenades, smoke grenades, 40 mm grenade launcher and tactical shotguns. Plus, Assault is usually a active soldier with a high account of kills per minute, and tries to fulfill the task without camping too much.

I play as Medic or Assault, but more commonly assault. I like being up in the action, the bullets whizzing by, the explosions all around me, tanks driving by and helis overhead. I have nothing against people who play as a Sniper, so long as they are good at the role. I makes me so angry when half my team is sitting in our base, none of them spotting (Seriously people, SPOT!), or when theres a recon on the front line with a shotgun, but he doesn't throw motion sensors. When I do play Recon I use an auto sniper with 4x scope, on the front line or sneaking around, spotting and throwing mines wherever I can. You have no idea how much it helps the team

Engineers are excellent in assisting your team and taking out enemy armour. They can repair tanks, and other vehicles, and they carry RPGs. That's the engineer from BC2, I don't know about TF2.

Although back in the younger days of my gaming experience I used to just think about shooting that other guy with no plan whatsoever, I've now developed more to the feel of the Sniper. I've been playing it a lot lately in BC2 and Team Fortress 2 simply because I enjoy headshotting :D but most importantly in a few select games, being a Sniper means you can use the environment to your advantage and cloak you.

Were they the guys that could call down artillery barrages and airstrikes in Enemy Territory? If so, they're definitely my favourite too...but I'll go with engineer for now, as much as I loved being a medic in Battlefield 2.

Soo many people like assault :O

Not that it's unusual, especially sniper in second place :P
