Which game is better in your opinion?
F.E.A.R.
or
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Theyre both way too different, but if I had to suggest:
FEAR: linear yet satisfying gameplay with smooth action, sweet guns, and amazing graphics. All takes place indoors.
STALKER: somewhat non-linear gameplay (think Oblivion) with twitchy action, okay guns, decent graphics that portray the environment well, and interesting stuff.
Persnally I say STALKER simply because its trying a lot of newer things and is very different from most shooters. To be honest, you could buy FEAR, Quake 4, Doom 3, and Prey and lump them all together because they are so similiar. STALKER is the only standout game due to its gameplay.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. kills F.E.A.R. defenetily! Have fun!Which game is better in your opinion?

i couldnt even bring myself to finish FEAR i found the game highly repetitive and downright boring, great graphics and ai aside it had some of the most uninspired level design i ever had the displeasure of playing through. i think stalker is better in every catagoery.............. taste goes a huge way in deciding which one you prefer mind you they are very diffrent games
Too many barrels and crates in F.E.A.R.. Why do they always have to overpopulate shooters with those two objects!??! Sure F.E.A.R. has Alma and great firefights but that just isn't enough to make the game great between running from one barrel-filled corridor to the other.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. kicks ass despite its bugs. And if you don't have it already, you can start now with patch 1.0001 which fixes many issues.
And FEAR imo doesnt run all that well as you would like, at high settings I got a bit of framerate drop in heavey fights that dropped just to low, and my rig is more than capable of getting way better frames, just felt very unoptimzed, FEAR Combat anyways, the full version may be better.V4LENT1NEMeh, I disagree, it runs way better than CoD2. I can run it at 1280 res, 2 AA, 16 AF, and my pc is 1.5 years old. The devs even said the game wasn't meant for higher than 1024 res. Anyway, it is stupid to just say that one game is better than the other, as they are entirely different games, and different games for different people. That said, I'm going to get STALKER as well, as I really enjoy dismal places. :P
FEAR has better graphics, game play, weapons, and AI. Stalker has a better environment and weather and is very cool because they recreated the real Chernobyl area with many of the real buildings and object recreated almost verbatim.

FEAR doesn't have better graphics. The gameplay is decent, but it's way way too linear and the environments are way too constricted. Also Stalker definately has better weapons, the weapons in F.E.A.R didn't have much variety either. AI in Stalker is also good, you need to bare in mind the size of the environment. The larger the space, the more the AI has to work with.

When compared that FEAR came out in 2005 and STALKER in 2007, FEAR has better graphics. Maybe not when compared to STALKER itself, but for it's time, it was pretty much unrivaled (except maybe by HL2). STALKER on the other hand, while good looking, is nowhere near the cream of the crop when it came out.mhhh...better the graphics are almost the same..i play both games at the highest settings..and they look similar.....i would go with stalker if you have a powerful computer...because at high settings it looks great and sounds.. great..plus with the new patch..there are fewer bugs..if you dont have a powerfull computer go with fear you can run it at high settings.. just with a radeon x800... 1 gb ram..^^FEAR has better graphics, game play, weapons, and AI. Depends what style of first-person shooter you like. In my opinion STALKER is much better and a game with some real emotion and intrigue. FEAR is fun when you just want to lose your mind and want to rip some bodies apart in slo-mo. They are both good at different things. Go with STALKER if you only have money for one, otherwise go with both!MIYAMOTOnext007what he/she said >_>
Forget about FEAR, go out and get STALKER. Everything is much better, but you can not even compare this two. STALKER has much more to offer. There is no doubt, if you like the mix of Oblivion and lets say FEAR, you would not regret it. STALKER has better graphics, compared in underground levels. FEAR did not have any nature elements in it. Today, FEAR is just a computer game, but STALKER is as in real life, where there is no bounderies / borders (almost), where you leave though a story and become a serverb fighting mushine! jokerdkWow, looks like we have THQ sales rep over here. Seriously, while STALKER is a great game, none of what you said made any sense. STALKER may have slightly better graphics, but that's not saying much when you're comparing it to a game released in 2005! Nature elements? What does this have to do with which is better? And if STALKER is just like real life, how come my life isn't buggy to the point of being unlivable? And my life doesn't crash every now and then? And my life isn't unoptimized, meaning I can live my life without getting constant glitches and slowdown? And STALKER is nothing like Oblivion, in fact, STALKER is a lot more constricted. Everywhere you go, you have barbed wire fences impeding your progress? If that's real life, where do you live? Riker's Island? In short, both are great games (and very different, which is why I don't understand why people compare the two), byt FEAR was just a lot better overall. And at least you could play it...
f.e.a.r has perfect combat - but that's all the game is, it's as one note as a game can get, combat combat combat - everything about the game is oriented towards combat, and while there's those 'horror' interludes, they hardly amount to much more than taking a breather bewteen fights
while stalker is crazy diverse, it's a roleplaying (that is, quests + items, not role playing) and shooter with the emphasis on surviving more than killing, with as much exploration as combat
while they're both fps games, comparing them is like comparing escape from butcher bay with escape from monkey island - totally, totally different, that the perspective is the same means nothing - or, at least, should mean nothing
fear has far, far richer combat - stalker has a more immersive world
fear has better lighting - stalker has better shadows
fear has, uh, alma - stalker has a x5 lifespan
but in the end, if you're gonna compare games, it's not the component elements you compare, it's the overall experience you - not experience as you play - but the experience you reflect upon after you play... and which is better?
neither, too different to compare

That's what the scores are for, and I'm sure the OP can check that. Right now he's determining which game to get, and it makes perfect sense to compare the graphics of the 2.Please Log In to post.
