F.E.A.R patching problem

I am trying to patch f.e.a.r to v 1.08 from v 1.00 however when i try to patch it it simply says "F.E.A.R is not currently installed, update aborted" can anyone shed any light on how to fix this? thanks for readingDancing_Panda

There are many different versions of the patch. You're going to want to download the full install rather than 1.07 to 1.08 install.

Also, make sure you're downloading the patch for FEAR, not Fear Combat.

I personally only have Fear Combat, and had the same problem as you. What I was doing wrong, was that I downloaded the 1.08 patch for FEAR rather than the one for Combat.

This was my solution. I downloaded the update for the retail version of FEAR not FEAR Combat.

I googled FEAR Combat update, downloaded making sure it said combat and everything worked.
