About COD: Black OPS, ive seen some people on here excited about dedicated servers, well..... theres a catch. Just read this and be upset.

Crap, it still looks a lot better than MW2 but that really is kinda stupid.

It is bothersome, since I was hoping for private dedicated 50-man servers and some crazy stuff like that. But it's manageable... it's still better than MW2, which btw has been absolute hell this week. Takes 10 or more tries to find a lobby that isn't hacked or you don't get some error message, and I get disconnected from Steam after almost every game.

From what I've heard, gameservers.com does most of the CoD4 dedicated server hosting, and they're pretty good. I was thinking of preordering a Montreal-based server... there probably won't be that many around at launch. :) Too bad there's no Toronto option.

That is freaking retarded was looking forward to getting this because I was hoping that it would fix the previous mistakes I guess I was giving acti way to much credit not to screw us over.

Yes, and do you wonder why the amount of dedicated servers are dwindling in that game since release?

A lot of communities rent a whole dedicated box out so we can pick and choose what servers we want as well as hosting our websites on the same box. We pay one flat rate per month and get to choose what we want.

When they do stuff like this especially stuck with one company, there's no choice over what we can do. It's a simple way of them not having to pay for official dedicated servers themselves and making us pay for them.

I don't care if I can't mod my server, but I want to be able to host them damn thing on my terms.

Great this company barely exists in Australia, probably because they get owned by the all the ISP's game servers. What little servers they have all operate out of Sydney which is another state with slower Internet.
