Well, I need a new game that will last me awhile in the multiplayer area, and I was looking to get Gears of War or UT3. Thing is, I dont want to get a game that has a small community, so I was wondering exactly how many people play GoW and UT3. I also wanted to get R6V2, but the first one didnt exactly have such a big community on the PC, so I'm, not sure.

Any other suggestions on what game to get would also be helpful (I already have COD4, the Battlefields, CSS, TF2, and WIC btw)

Oh, and I wanted to get Halo 2 since I liked the first Halo, but I heard it wasnt exactly that great in the multiplayer area.

Well both UT3 and Gears has a online community that's constantly growing. However I'll go with UT3 for the mod support. Both are really great games and it's really a decision of preference. The only negative about Gears though is that you need a Xbox live account to get the full online experience in Gears of War.

Well I have no problems if a game requires Games for Windows Live or anything, I just want to get something with a large online community.

i can answer ur questions without reading them. the answer is it doesn't matter because both these games like both my balls. GoW is licking the left, UT3 licks the right. Then once theyre both done the blow me nice and hard. and i try to think maybe they dont, but they do.

I hope i helped on this issue.

Too bad no one is playing them. Almost everyday I see a new map released.

(almost verbatim quote of Pure Pwnage)

Sounds like somebody just got done watching Episode 3 of Season 1. How about instead of regurgitating an internet parody show you can provide informative feedback.

Speaking of which: I'd just go with whichever is cheaper. I'm kind of glad I got UT3 at a discount as I feel like it was a big step backwards from UT2004. The maps just feel smaller, and the action faster paced (if that's your thing, then by all means, UT3 has speed in spades).

That being said, I can see there being a bigger community for UT3. Afterall, the entire UT series was made with player community in mind. As for actual numbers, I'm afraid I can't help you there. However, because GfW-L has been the subject of many gamers' ire, I doubt that Gears has a high gamer adoption rate.
