Hey, I've been trying to find a game similar to FF Tactics on GBA or Fire Emblem that runs on/was designed for the PC. I know about emulators and Heroes of Might and Magic. I'm just wondering if there were any other games that followed this formula that were good? For some reason, I always got bored of HoMM (trust me I've tried to get into it three times now), but my FF Tactics, Fire Emblem, and Ogre Tactics NEVER got old on my GBA. Thanks!

Both of the King's Bounty games are good.

X-COM series, old but gold! Try the first, X-COM: Ufo Defense. This game considered one of the best ever made.

Both Kings Bounty games, the older Might and Magic games, Fallout Tactics and X-Com all are great games similar to FF Tactics, Vandal Hearst, Fire Emblem.

I've heard that both of the Kings Bounty games are similar to Heroes of Might and Magic, is this true?

I don't even know why i like the FF Tactics/Tactic Ogres game so much more than Heroes of Might and Magic even when they're two very similar games. Perhaps its the fact that you can equip and customize every single unit in the former games, i just don't know.

Edit:

I just took a look at some of the screenshots for the King's Bounty games more carefully, and they seem extremely similar to HoMM. =( I'm not a big fan of the army system in HoMM, if units were more like..."solid" i guess such as in Tactics Ogre it'd be great.

I dunno, maybe i'm looking for something that doesn't exist here.

Then go with Fallout Tactics, XCOM, or Jagged Alliance.

Im loving Kings Bounty Armored Princess right now. I have The Legend but my computer isnt being supportive when it comes to running it. Seems just as fun as AP though. Get it!

thb, none. Japanese turn-base tactical rpg is a console exclusive genre. sure, pc has its own turn-base strategy/rpg hybrids, but anyone who has dabbled in both kinds can surely tell that they are vastly different from each other. for example, similarities between King's Bounty and FF tactics/Tactics Ogre are rudimentary at best.

To TC - it's my opinion that King's Bounty (at least the first one, i haven't played AP) is not nearly as good as what you've enjoyed on GBA. if you're interested, the gold edition is on sale at Steam, but i strongly suggest you play the demo first.

I agree with Jinroh_basic, I don't think Kings Bounty or Heroes of Might and Magic is anything like Final Fantasy Tactics. I have yet to find a FFT clone for the PC.
