[QUOTE="A-S_FM"] it is partially true, though - that there's simply not the demand for it - or publishers aren't aware of the demand..
people who play fighting games buy consoles, that's more or less how it's always been - the fighting game is one of the archetypal console genres, along with racing, sports and platformers, while pcs are really all about fps, rts, rpg and flight/space/whatever simulation
we've seen a genre shift on the consoles, becoming more pc-like - but unfortunately it doesn't seem like it's ever going to go both ways, the pc will always be fps, rts and rpg... it won't change unless publishers know the demand is out there - it's not likely anyone is going to take the risk in the hope of getting some sales on their fighting game... but what can you do? start an online petition? they sure get read!!
i agree with sSubZerOo - it's easier to just buy a ps2 and have access to most of the best fighting games ever made - it's what i did (street fighter alpha 3 is imo the best fighting game now and forever) - and that's really all there is to it...

no man, i definitely agree with your points - and alpha 3 is my favorite fighter of all time, w/ ssamurai shodown2 at a close second.
i just wanted to say that just because that's the way it's been for a while, it doesn't mean we can't make progress. i mean, sometimes i want to play a fighter late night against a HUMAN opponent (no matter what game it is), and internet makes that possible. sf online is a good alternative, but more is possible. i can't have a friend over all the damn time, or if i had a roommate, wake them up @ 2 in the morning so i can get my fighting game fix. i was lucky enough to have friends over the years who enjoyed sf, tekken, and fight night as much as i did, but in this internet multiplayer gaming age, we need to stop overlooking this genre for pcs. and as one grows older and gets married or has other responsibilities during the day, the long fighting game sessions from his youth become more and more or a rarity.
How much fun would it be playing a fighter on a computer monitor? Some games are just not suited for PC and I agree with the previous poster completely. FPS, RTS, sims etc are strong on PC but fighters wouldn't be. Sitting at my computer desk with a controller just doesn't seem right to me. anything that needs a controller i will much rather play on a console.
