It's just plain bad and i'm not one of those angry people with a crap PC complaining about it. It's just soooo buggy and i can't see much of it changing this close before release, atleats it's not as bad as FarCry's multiplayer but that's probably only because of the graphics. I can't quite understand why the DX9 version doesn't have falling down trees too, what is trees falling down a DX10 only feature? In 2006 in the DX9 multiplayer trailers trees did fall down lol.

Just graphics aside the actual multiplayer is just uninteresting and doesn't stand out above anything else. The gameplay seems to be very much like they took a island out of Crysis and stuck 32 people on it and gave them a buy menu for weapons. It's just not good enough to make you want it over say better multiplayer games as TF2 or CS.....

If the single player game is as boring as this then what a disappointment. Just seems like a tech demo to me and people saying OMG this game is amazing not because of the gameplay but because of the graphics.

Yeah Microsoft is teh sucks. DX9 will have "trees fall down" and all other physics in singleplayer only. The only reason that Crytek gave for DX10 having physics in multiplayer was that it would "Lighten the load server side."

I get that graphics > Gameplay feeling too. If I didn't think Far Cry was the best shooter in the past 5 years, I would have zero interest in Crysis, but since it was so good, I'm waiting patiently to see the "spiritual successor."

The multiplayer gameplay isn't anything special. The single player will probably be good though.

The multiplayer was never the main attraction for me. It is better then I had expected, but certainly UT3 will have my primary interest in the multiplayer department.

1)beta=bugs k? It is an older build of the game

2) It goes much deeper than sticking 32 people in a map? You have to contol key points to get weapons and other fun stuff that can come in handy in winning the game. The nano suit choices add variety in the way you can approach situations. I would suggest playing more to learn about these things since it seems like you have a vague understanding of the MP. It is a pretty steep learning curve imo.

3) I haven't seen a video of dx9 trees falling down in MP, are you sure they weren't SP demos?

4) TF2=god

To those saying they don't like the MP: how long have you played? And what exactly didn't you like?

Power Struggle isn't straightforward pick-up-and-play like Counter-Strike if that's what you were expecting. Once you learn how the gametype works and how versatile the power suit is it's a ton of fun.

Well..you ARE playing the same map with the same objective layout over and over and over. You'll get sick of that in any game.

I've been playing a couple hours a day (2-3 games) mixed in with my normal game play-time and have been having alot of fun. I can't wait for retail multiplayer.

Its good multiplayer, but not something I will probably get into. I guess I'll just have to wait and see if the other maps provide enough variety to keep me hooked.

Like someone said before, the singleplayer is also the main attraction for me.

But what is the issue with the multiplayer mode? It is insanely fun, challenging, and unique. Its like an assault mode with a bunch of objectives. Its easy enough to build up points to purchase better equipment, but its also challenging at the same time. Add to that vehicles, superweapons, and the abilities of your suit (which alone adds a fresh spin on multiplayer) and its great.

Crysis is an action game, but its an action game with strategy!

I dont know if there is anything better than being chased by a heavily armed north korean, turning your speed on, then hiding in the bushes with strength on and pounding his face in as he runs by!

P.S. For those of you experiencing bad framerates, or even good framerates with the occasional freeze....turn your resolution down. I went from 1680x1050 to 1280x720 or whatever it is and the game has worked flawlessly for me, whereas before it was horrible.

Well my build says Sept 30th 2007......

Grantelicious

I think i'm allowed to post this, it is a sticky from the beta forums. That spells older build to me and that Crytek is still working on the final one.

* Vista performance is currently a bit slower than XP performance but this should change in later builds.
* DX10 functionality is not available in current beta build. This means limited physics, shaders, etc. A future build may include DX10 functionality.
* AA is not available in current beta build - turning it on does nothing.
* Quadcore support is not available in current beta build but will be in the final game.
* Some graphical features are not available (or officially supported) in current beta state (e.g. sunshafts, ultra high settings)
* The game and its engine CryEngine2 are still in the process of being optimized
* Nvidia is still optimizing their drivers for Windows Vista and Crysis itself (didn't hear a word about ATI doing so right now, so i only mention Nvidia here)

The thing you have to remember is it is BETA. The reason it runs like crap is becuase they don't do game optimizations until last.

I'm not to fond of Crysis either and besides playing the BETA I also got to play some SP special demo(guessing it was specially made for the event, who knows) at WSVG Dallas. I got bored pretty quick, but the graphics were pretty good.

Just dont get mad about it not being optimized, like others have said, wait for the demo. Then make your full judgements on it.

I really like the beta. Although it doesnt have destructible environments in dx9, it is still pretty solid. It's like BF2, with much better graphics and more elements to it. I LOVE the weapon purchasing/modding. And capturing the objectives actually means stuff in this game.

And with regards to the destructible environments being dx10 only, it is kinda bs. The devs themselves said that it is totally possible on dx9 machines. But they just wanted to set the bar at dx10 hardware and above. They want to kick anyone out who could potentially lag down everyone else with slower hardware (thus the server load increasing.) So it's more like getting rid of a bottleneck in performance for people who want to play it the way it is intended to be played.

Not at all. You can only play on medium w/ a 7900GS? What resolution are you playing on, CPU, RAM?

Well to be honest i hope they pay more attension on ATI cards because atm the optimization for us ATI users is alot worse than Nvidia and that shouldn't be the case when i've used a 2900 crossfire and getting poor performance when that shouldn't be happening, also my x1950xtx gets worse FPS than my other 7900gt and the x1950xtx is a much more powerful card.......

Beta's are usually extremely buggy. If you want a game that isn't buggy, wait for the final release, not a beta. Playing the Crysis MP beta has raised my interest level in the game much higher than it was before. It's BF2 on roids. It'll be played for years because it actually has something called "depth", something which CS lacks.

God....people who sign up for a beta to "play" the game are morons. Betas are for TESTING. your doing them a favor, not the other way around. In an MP beta, only KEY game mechanics are in the client for TESTING. It's quite simple really. If they decided to include all features you'd be downloading a 3-4 gig file. Therefore, dont make assumptions until you play a near release demo.

While official maps were all created by people years back i only play official maps now anyways. Also you say theres nothing to it but quite often keeping it simple is better than trying to be complex.

Yeah, the multiplayer feelsmorelike a novelty rather than a serious competitive multiplayer game. I'll probably wait a little while after release to get it, especially with all the other great games coming out.

no it won't be better on smaller maps, it would completely destroy the uses and versatility of the nano suit. The suit is used widely when you have much more freedom to use it with.

I HAVE SO MUCH FUN! I feel like a bad person though. When my teammates buy a nuke in the Prototype factory, I take it from them and kill every one of my teammates in the factory, its so fun because you get half the team killed, but then the bouluders kill half the other team. AWESOME!

To those saying they don't want to play the beta anymore,

Could I please borrow you're activation key?

Thanks,

I agree with you OP. The game needs alot of work and it will either be delayed or it will be total @#!$! I have been waiting for this game since the start but now I feel the MP will be terrible and the game will be unfinished and buggy. I hope i'm wrong..
