Good choices. Especially the PSU. I have a hx520 in one of my rigs and its extremely solid. Even though the rails are rated as seperate it has load shift which essentially means it can operate as a single large amperage rail.

It seems like you did alot of research and picked good parts. Have fun ;)

The only things i would change if i was building that exact computer would getting ocz platinum rev 2 ram and a PC P&C silencer 750 Quad psu.

And maybe a newer model soundcard. The X-fi cards are buggy and i really dont like them but they have alot of potential if you feel like fixing them.

Paying ~$400 more then what it would cost you to build it yourself but whatever floats your boat.

true, but maybe he doesnt know how to build it...will cause a lot less headaches for the chap this way.  unless he has a really nice friend who will build it for him completely free or for a small fee its really not worth his time otherwise.  me...id build it myself.

In my opinion. The knowledge and practive you get from building it yourself is worth $400. I would actually pay more to be able to build my own.

There are enough faqs and "how to's" out there that its pretty much impossible to mess up. It only takes 1 build to figure it out and you gain a lifetime of knowledge.

True, but some people don't want to learn, they just want it to work e.g. Mac lovers

It's a great rig, but as many people will tell you, you could build a computer that would run circles around that one for less money. I just built a new rig (specs in sig) for about $1200. But if your budget allows it, go ahead and get it.
