Hey, I've been getting a lot of help on these forums for the second time now (got another computer about a year ago), and I'm about ready to finalize my configuration for my PC.

Please just look over my specs, and if you see anything that I should change, something that may bottleneck something else, etc. please let me know.

Also, the next set of AMD chips will be AM2, right? I want to be able to upgrade in the future. Thanks!

**EDIT** I decided to go with an SLI capable rig so I changed the PSU, Case and Mobo...

Case: Antec Nine Hundred Black Computer Case With Side Panel Window

PSU: Thermaltake toughpower W0117RU 750W Power Supply Would this be enough to run two 8800GTSs in SLI with the 6000+?

Mobo: ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition ATX AMD Motherboard

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3.0GHz Socket AM2 Processor

CPU Fan:
Thermaltake CL-P0075 80mm 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink

RAM:
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Desktop Memory

GPU:
EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 640-P2-N821-AR HDCP Video Card

Sound:
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Sound Card

HDD:
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB 3.5'' SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

Optical Drive x2: SAMSUNG SATA 18X DVD±R DVD Burner W/ 12X DVD-RAM Write and LightScribe

You've done a good job on your homework. Everything looks good, I think that PSU will be fine.  As for AM2 all I can do is point you to a good article:http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2986&p=6

I have one suggestion. instead of the AMD system, why dont you just get the C2D E6600 and get a mobo with the Intel
P965 chipset?

Suggest: AMD +ATI and Intel +Nvidia.

Also: right now buy the new Intel chipset Mobo's and you'll be future proof for their single slot quad core.

Get 1000Watt psu and never worry again

My biggest concern is the PSU. Is 650W enough for the 8800GTS and the X2 6000+?

Also, if I were to upgrade in the future, do you think I'd need to get a larger PSU?

FireBurger

If you want to future proof, then you could move up to the 720! Lots of juice.

Everything looks good but do you really need a sound card? I would have thought that mobo would have one. Unless you're into making music id advise against getting it.

Looks good, but theres no pressing need for a sound card and the 600+ has a small enough performance boost over the 5600+ you should probably just get that one.

P.S. AM2+ is the new AMD chipset, AM2+ chips are backwards compatable with the AM2 boards though. You just can't use Hypertransport 3.0, split power panes and the 3-10% performance jump that goes along with it.

Looks like a good build. Also, it is nice to see people helping someone who wants an AMD processor instead of just slamming him.
