It's very difficult to knock HL2 from its lofty perch in the PC World.

I recommend the games on this list to anyone, though its a shame no strategy games made it this far, oh well

HL2 is a wonderfull game IMO, but I do hope those voting for it are following the rules and not including Episode 1 and 2 in their thinking.

By the way, great win for Gordon in the Hero Poll!

I wanted to see Gordon vs Samus in the finals, my 2 fav heroes all-time.

I was dissapointed that Nameless One from Planescape got beat out by some ninja dude, a shame :(

I only included Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source in my vote, like you requested. And I agree about the Nameless One. A massive disapointment. Also, Gordon vs Samus would've been incredible!

PT getting shut out? Either the PT fans aren't out now or the competition is just too imposing. Just a hop, skip, and jump from getting my vote.

I have played HL2 and Diablo 2, but I feel I haven't played enough of Deus Ex (only a couple chapters in) to qualify me to vote.

Therefore I shall abstain...but I'm cheering for HL2.

did you actually not know both Starcraft and Brood war for PC came out in '98?

Not to burst yer bubble, but I bought Starcraft first week it was released in 1998. As you can plainly see by the title, the Poll starts in '99.

Oh and I meant the original Red Alert as you said in your first statement

My favorites would be HL2/CS:S. Some of the other nominations were fun, but none them were really my cup of tea.

Great games all of them. I never really got into Diablo 2, as the RPG elements are to weak in this slash and hack. My vote: Planescape. Epic story and dialogue tree.
