I am school right now btw. I am running e8400, 8800GTS 512, 2 gig ram, Vista Home premium

I had some trouble putting the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro in. So I had to take it off a couple of times and put it back on and the thermal paste was already kind of melted.

Now I put it together, installed vista and I started running Prime95 (while Im at school). When I used CoreTemps on test 6 (2 torture tests), my temps were at 63 and 60 degrees.

The side panel was not on (it has another fan on it). IS that too hot? I can't stop the test-cuz I'm at school but maybe I could call my mom to do it if shes not at work already. I'm guessing I should reapply some paste?

thanks in advance.

Those are horrible temperatures for an e8400. There's no way a 45nm CPU should run that hot on stock clocks. Try reseating your heatsink and apply new thermal paste again.

And, when you do re-apply your thermal paste, make sure to clean all of the old stuff off! You'll need 90+ isopropyl alcohol, or more preferably, an Arctic Silver ArctiClean kit.
