Hey guys I am in dire need of assistance, I am looking for a pair of headphones around £100 that have no distrortion and good bass and nice clear highs, but All these high end phones seem to have 8ft long coiled cables!!! what the hell? I am getting close to settling for the Bose AE2 because they are portable, have a normal length cable and sound pretty decent.... But I know there is better to be had, Im not looking to do any DIY cable cutting so can anyone help?

Look for a pair of headphones with a coiled cable instead, then. It will be, functionally, much shorter and easier to store. The Audio-Technica ATHM50 has a coiled cord (the ATHM50S has a straight cord) and the Shure SRH750DJ headphones have a coiled cord, as well.

Good luck,

Boz

Picky, picky, picky; there are a few headphones out there with detachable cords. You could then purchase a shorter male to male cable without worrying about having to splice. The models escape me, at the moment, so I would suggest you ask the experts over at Head Fi. They'll steer you right.

Good luck!
