See blog. I would say Firefox is more useful thanks to great add ons like Adblock Plus, but Google Chrome is coded much better and is also much faster thanks to the Web Kit engine (as opposed to the slower Gecko engine that FF uses). Firefox is a bit bloated too with a lot of memory leaks. Firefox 3.5 and 3.6 should make the browser feel noticeably faster, but I really wish Mozilla just recoded the whole thing for Firefox 4 and moved to Web Kit.

Also, try running CCleaner and clearing out your browser cache/history/cookies/download history/etc. It might be a bit inconvenient since you'll lose autofill info and passwords, but it might help with the crashes.

Chrome slow? Something's wrong with your PC. Chrome beta 2.0 is lightning fast for me, noticeably faster than Firefox most of the time. Even if it doesn't actually load pages faster, the UI feels very snappy.

Wow, I am pretty sure ANYTHING is better than IE. I use Firefox on my main rig, and Chrome on my laptop. Firefox is really useful because of its plugins like metioned in the posts above me (addon support will be coming to Chrome). Chrome works well on my laptop because of its minimalistic design, so I can see lots of the website on the tiny screen. I find Chrome faster than Firefox too.

Get a theme for Firefox if you think its ugly (duh). I use Classic Compact 3.0.9 I had too many buggy websites with Chrome so I stopped using it.

Most of these people have not used chrome. Chrome is the best, why? IT GETS 100/100 on the acid 3 test. Acid3 test firefox gets 71/100. On the futuremark benchmark tester chrome is 3x as fast. I scored 500 on firefox 3 and 1500 on chrome. Chrome is based on webkit so is safari 4.0 beta. These are the two best browsers. Chrome also is much much faster in its javascript performance.

I would also tend to agree with you. Although I can't comment on Chrome, not having used it yet. I do run IE8 most of the time with occasional uses of FF and feel more comfortable with IE8, though I don't dislike FF...... IE just seems to suit me better. The only thing I seem to have a problem with IE being slow is opening up and running this site. Trying to navigate around GS is about as fast as watching paint dry....:(

chrome is much much better

chrome is incredibly intuitive, it is very fast, very sleek, and very effective

it can go where no browser has gone before lol

while safari may be nice if you want things to be really nice and simple, if you want to enjoy your time spent on the internet use chrome

What big thing would make me (a long time user of Firefox) change to Chrome. I know it doesnt have addons, which is a -1 point....but what are the pros specifically? Also...I heard somewhere that Google take info from the PC through Chrome...??

Chrome is faster, but can also crash a bit to with plug-ins failing. After some more work it will kick ass. I use Firefox on my gaming PC for stability and compatibility.

I would definately go with chrome. It IS faster and easier to navigat. ie.adding tabs. It also meanss you don't have to go to search engines to find sites. You just type it into the bar.

IE7 is indeed the most used browser, but not because it's the best, simply because it's the default browser on all Windows computers. Most Windows users probably don't even know how to switch browsers. There's nothing wrong with IE8, it's much better than IE7, but I don't think it has any advantage over Firefox.

Indeed. Google Chrome is the best coded browser in my opinion and generally the fastest (or at least beta 2.0 is). It just needs a few more iterations to gain a lot of the features of the other browsers and the great add on community that Firefox has.

Yeah. Firefox has become bloated. I used it for years, but the newer version just bogs down. The latest Chrome and IE are faster than the latest Firefox.
