Get a better power supply, you'll thank me later. Actually you won't thank me later, but I won't have to hear you back here in a year complaining about your PC randomly restarting.

Also, why get a Crossfire-capable motherboard and Nvidia graphics? Either save money on the board and get a cheaper, single-PCI-e version, or switch it up to ATI.

And of course, you'll probably need a new copy of Windows.

Assuming your power supply doesn't randomly restart trying to run a GTX 260, rather well.

Spend a little bit more and get the Corsair hx520 watt Modular power supply. After one year not a single blue screen, or restart. Being modular it is quite tidy in the case too for great air flow.

I would not buy that brand PSU, I had several Thermaltake PSUs in the past and never had one that lasted over 6 months.

If your going to spend additional money for any one item it would be the power supply...the suggestion of the Corsair 520w modular is excellent. It's 99 dollars after MIR...but well worth it. A good PSU is a must !

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139001

And do think about an ATi GPU since your MB is cross-fired enabled if you ever decide to run 2 cards...This should run Crysis very well and save you some money..it's also a duel slot card which helps keep your case cooler inside.... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161244

If you want to stick with an Nvidia card and save a few bucks but still get good performance to run Crysis...check this out

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121266

And just another suggestion for a case..... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146025

The parts you listed are good choices...these are just some alternative suggestions for you to compare. I would look into another PSU though...

$150 for a 9800GT? He should be able to find one of those for at least $20 or $30 less (keep in mind that the 8800GT is the exact same card. Even so, if he's going to stick with Nvidia, he might as well go for a cheaper, single-slot motherboard.

No, that's not correct. This card sells right now with S&H and after MIR for 139.00. You have to also take into consideration the fact that it's running 128 stream processors and is factory OC'ed....This card is on par with performance of a 9800GTX, very close to a 9800GTX+ and will outperform a 8800GT. There are 9800GT's from other Mfg for a small amount less...but not close to the performance of this card and still under 150 bucks.

9800GTX that is cheaper out the gate than that 9800GT. Lower core clock, but the memory is clocked higher. Also comes with a lifetime warranty, unlike the ASUS card. And since it's stock, I'd expect to be able to easily overclock past that 9800GT.

Really though, Nvidia has overflooded the market. It's bloody annoying trying to keep track of all their cards.

1) How is he going to run a dual gpu setup with a 500w psu? 2) My gtx260 is without a doubt faster than my hd4870 and I have recent benchmarks to prove it. You cant go wrong with that gtx260. 3)That p5q pro is a good board and that e8400 will overclock very well on it. 4)Get a different psu, that corsair is nice.
