Hello,

I am new to PC gaming, but recentley i have decided to try and build my first High end gaming pc. i dont that much about the whole building process so i just wanted to show the current specs i have and see what any of you guys think. Any tips or suggestions would be very helpful. Here are the specs:

Intel core i7 965 Extreme.

Asus Rampage II Extreme Intel X58.

Corsair 6GB DDR3 Dominator memory.

BFG GTX 295.

2x Seagate 500GB 10000rpm 32mb cash.

Corsair HX 1000W PSU.

Antec 1200 or NZXT Tempest case.(not sure which is the best any suggestions would be helpful)

Windows Vista Ultimeate SP1 64 Bit.

Those are the major components i have selected so far. So any help would be great. Thanks.

Very nice first build, however I would downgrade the Extreme to the 920 or the 940 and overclock it... The Extreme version costs a small fortune, and maybe downscale teh power supply to around 800watts or so... other than that, it is a very nice build.

Don't forget to buy an aftermarket cpu cooler

I would've said a Corsair 750W would've been enough, but I'm pretty sure money doesn't seem to be a problem to you, so I won't say anything. :)

I think they do make them. They had them on overclockers for sale a week ago on a special offer for that week. Someone on youtube also has them listed in his specs. But i can always double check and change them to something else if needed.

I have the NZXT tempest, and it is a huge sized mid-case, In which i have plenty of room for all my components... Cooling is also extremely good, with dist filters on the front.

I haven't experienced the Antec 1200, although it does look like a great case, and would more than likely have excellent cooling also

Thanks alot man i think i will definetley go with that cooler. I also wanted to ask whether having a 10000rpm hard drive over a 7200rpm drive will boost ingame performance. Or will it just load games, applications etc faster?

It's not going to make a hugely noticeable difference, load times will be increased but not substantially... in most cases 7200rpm is more than enough
