A good system, very similar to my server. My server has the same motherboard and it owns, it has linux built into it, overclocks like a champ, a lot of sata ports for my 9 hard drives, and is just reliable. Same cpu too, but I oc'd it to 3.7 ghz :) I can't say I'm a big fan of the case, but if you like it sure, gets good reviews. Over all a good computer, I'd buy it, right now ;)

great build if you don't mind the current-gen cpu(i have q6600 also), also you should get an aftermarket cpu fan if you should want to overclock

If I was building a PC right now that Q9650 would be very tempting considering the 40% price drop on it.

That case is way too expensive for something that doesn't even come with a PSU.... BTW: ...add about 120 bucks to your price; you'll need a PSU... Probably, something over the 500watt range, too..

I like the price of these. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156062

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811121074

Heh... and if you want something without a PSU, how 'bout this instead?

all those case wasn't very overclocking friendly beside the one at 120$ ? even tough if you want something it better be as good as CM 690 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119137 Cm 690
IF You want more airflow power then get HAf 932 Beefdog Even confirmed it a good airflow case apprently much better then is Antec 900
so it just as bit-tech say a Performances of 10/10 in there review

I decided to go with the 4850 x2 after checking out some of the benchmarks, so thanks for the info!

Also about the motherboard you mentioned...how is the sound quality? Also is it overclock friendly? Reliability?

Thanks for the advice!

P.S. About the cases mentioned how do they hold up compared to the Antec 1200? Is the Antec a far superior case or no?

Really good on both and one of the best Overclocker friendly and Reliablity well as far i know it the most Reliable motherboard Brand on market
Tough asus high end & DFI & Foxcom / MSI / Asrock got quite high reliablity it should go fine and i hope you enjoy ur card ;)

in future if you want Great sound get either a Auzentech X-FI PRelude 7.1 On sales or X-FI Fataltiy 1 Titanimum if you find it too expesnive for gaming
For Pure music and movie : the Asus Xonar Card Which is aroudn 120-140$

The Antec 1200 may have a superrior managing for Double Loop Water Cooling who know
But If i'm sure of someting about theHAf 932 for Airflow there no doubt if you want a gpu as hot as 4850x2 / and a CPu Overclocked Cooled to the max the HAf 932 & A thermalrithgt 120 And ur worry free

I mean the look, it's an awesome case for cooling, I personally like the cooler master 830 and the antec p182.

The haf932 has no air filters... other than that, it's a fine case.

no air filter but you just clean ur case anyway even if it as a dust filter * beefdog said he like is case tough and buy it quite cooler then is antec 900 While antec 900 to 1200 there not a huge differance as far i heard the HAf 932 Does one so you'r better getting this case and a good cpu cooler Then once you get too much dust it recommended every month to shutdown ur pc and clean up the dust everywhere I have a Cm 690 and after 6 month ad a little bit of dust on the video card but cleaned it

I rarely ever clean my computers, and when I do it's just the dust filters... so much easier :) sure a bit of dust escapes it but it takes a long long long long time to become a problem.

yeah you should get the thermalright True tough if you can from other website newegg are nuts to not even sell it everyone should agree on that
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cooling/2009/02/19/ga-1366-cpu-cooler-group-test/7
when it got tested from over 10 : Review Website that show Thermalright Ultra Extreme 120 as The Best Cpu cooler ? Why not sell it !!
Tigerdirect.ca & tigerdirect.com sell it / ncix.com us / canada sell it / Frycomputer sell it

no. tagan a+ Diablo is far as being good as HAF 932 in performances if you speak about performances
here a full list of Low performances airflow (But Good Looking case) vs Extreme airflow engine
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cases/2009/02/12/akasa-infiniti-zor-review/3

They are Only 3 Case Which sucess to cool both effiquantly the CPU STRESS & Gpu Stress Thermaltake speedo / HAF 932 / Lian-LI TYR PC-X2000 According there test While skeleton did good on GPU stress it did fail on CPU stress by lot against is rival according what i see there test if they are accurate as they used to be

It sure you can get a Stylish case ? or a Airflow case you'r the one who decide to stare at ur tower for 3 hour instead of play on it ;)

then u would be wrong and rumour id need to certiate the source of information based on what i seen on other website benchmark and stuff the Antec 1200 is infferior of HAF 932 in both cpu / GPU at Full Load (Stress) and Idle (low process)

While if you talk of case Well Designed for water Cooling we got the Thermaltake Armor+ / Thermaltake speedo / ATCS 840 By cooler master
But the ATCS 840 apparently in therm of airflow inferior by Several Degree On CPU Stress Against is Other Sibling the HAf 932
Tough if some high tech people that ad experience with over 10-20 case and do lot of benchmark into those id like to know there idea :D
as Far I heard and know of people say the HAF 932 is a Beast In Airflow But The Look isn't that appealing to most of user

Will I need to replace the 230mm fans with smaller ones such as 4 120mm or can I leave it as it is?

don't write on horrible colours puts me off even reading it. looks pretty good. For gaming the q6600 isn't the best choice as the dual core e8400 beats in in just about every games but if you plan on multitasking then the quad is great and it will run games fine.

YeP : according over 3-5 test By Enthusiast of psu a Such psu can support even a Core i7 975 At 5.2ghz + Two 4870x2 whch in big word it a huge consumation hardware ;)

Id Like to know what cpu you want to go with tough and if you plan to overclock : the E8500 In most of the game or Q9550 / Q9650
will be The Best choice E8500 is often more accurate then Q9550/9650 in non quad core optimized game
While Q9550 / Q9650 Overclock at aroudn 3.6Ghz are never more then 3fps Average Behind Core 2 Duo E8400-E8600
Overclocked at about same rate for Voltage & MHZ : so if you intend to multi-task as well and gaming on game as GTA IV or more game in future
A Q9550 / Q9650 will alway be Better then Q6600 And in most of the case Better then E8500 which can be found as low as 180$US

yeah but if you get a 750was you won't have to change ur psu for a while ;) and won't turn at all in the red :D of un-certificated for a while cause when you perform as i said Core i7 975 / + Two 4870x2 they are no certification so if it blow it ur own fault we hate that gimmick :D they make us buy 300-400 overpowered wats thing for that : example if a Two 4870x2 + A Q9650 at 3.6Ghz Consume 572wats they will say : Recommend 1000wats as minimum :D

(off topic) but i think that recommended wats is just as printer by cannon :D
it like printer hardware it know by tech people who know how to spend money that ink cartridge of 50$ are not better then those one you find in local store at 15$ they just make you pay 40$ more for a freaking chip that will make the ink cartridge won't work after 50% of is ink used = 50% of the ink trown at the waste

It was proved in Scientific Review of Printer & there CartRidge then Translated in Other Language as posted as new ;) Ink Cartridge manufacturer was found Guilty Of Waste from 40% to 70% of there ink it was proved by Take a hammer ? break the shell of the cartridge and look the ink still inside LOT OF ink !

Sounds good lol. Just a question though...Isnt putting in the Thermalright Ultra 120 kind of confusing...plus you need to buy a fan to put on it right? I've heard only a very few fans can fit on it because of how its made...?

Thanks! :)
