Are there any semi recent rpgs that have a first person view?

If by "semi-recent" you mean with half-way decent 3D graphics, I'd recommend Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. You can switch from First-person to Third person and back. It's a very good RPG, to boot, with excellent roleplaying elements and writing.

Stalker. First thread someone hasn't mentioned it in the first or second post :Pclembo1990That doesn't make any sense. (there are many thousands of such threads) And it's not really an RPG. Gothic 1/2/3, Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Bloodlines. I reiterate all of these as worthy of notice.

Not an RPG. It has an inventory, exploration, dialouge, quests, upkeep and all, but no stats system. It's more like an open-ended survival shooter than an open-world shooter/RPG hybrid.
THIS! No RPG can come close yet to the writing, excellent dialogue and characters of this game.If by "semi-recent" you mean with half-way decent 3D graphics, I'd recommend Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. It's FPRPG enough for me. Also look at Daggerfall, it's not half bad even compared to Morrowind, plus it's the biggest game in gaming history.Morrowind with mods and you will have a few 100's of hours of game play... And yes there are high res mods.
Well, tehnicaly its not really an RPG,but it has some RPG elements...
And it is an amazing game with Firs person view...
Its called Bioshock, one of my,if not my favorite game of all times!
Hellgate: London can be bought on amazon for like $3 right now. I'm having a lot of fun with it, I love how I keep getting flashbacks to Diablo 2 while playing it, and it has some of the coolest character classes I've ever played in a game.
Cons: no more multiplayer and often buggy
But for the ridiculously cheap price it's worth it for several hours of fun and a pretty fresh gaming experience.

Boiling Point & White Gold.
Keep an Eye out for White Gold.
These games are GTA3-4 + Crysis + Oblivion/Fallout 3
You can also play a lot of MMO RPGs in that view too, all the time.

But wouldn't that just gimp you? Although, there is a first person MMO coming! http://www.mortalonline.com/
Q: What is Mortal Online?
A:Mortal Online is a first-person MMORPG in an open player-controlled fantasy game world for the PC. Player versus Player (PvP), or rather Player to Player interaction plays an important part in Mortal Online as trading, learning, combat, rumors and alliances are largely dependent on communication between players. Our approach to character creation, character progress and skills are to get away from hours and hours of pointless grinding and quickly immerse you into the community â€" once there, your real journey begins.
