Is this 3rd person view i am seeing? Noooo...I pray that they will have the First Person View option as well...playing Thief in 3rd person is cheating....

I just jumped to the Theif 4 Discussion Boards and there is a strong belief that what we are seeing here might be one of three different things:

1. It could be a custom build of Thief 3 to just to play around with some devs ideas. The screen looks like Thief 3 as far as City Watch gurads that can be seen.

2. It could be a screen from a multiplayer mode in Thief 4. There is a red text in the top left-hand corner of the screen that says something like "******* killed BY ***********". There is also a red timer that can be seen in top center of the screen.

3. It could be a 3rd person view of the New Thief 4.

I have to admit if this screen is a true Thief 4 concept and they have MP and require you to use 3rd person (or neglect the first person view) i would be seriously upset...

Two reasons:

1. Could be a test build of the engine and they are testing something

2. it could be MultiPlayer and the time remaining until the match is over...

I would hate it if it has MP...This is Thief for god's sake - The Stealth Defining First Person game!

It probably means they will not spend enough time on the SP...Same thing happened to Bioshock 2...OK single player campaign and a mediocre MP...

Different studios for Bioshock 2's SP and MP.

(also the SP was way better than the first one's:P)

What about Uncharted 2 or AC: Brotherhood? Even HL2, Riddick and Stalker have multiplayer.

I don't think we should doubt the studio that brought back Deus Ex in such a spectacular fashion and which employs the key people of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.

There are other pics if you search hard enough on the Eidos Montreal site, but you can't see **** except that they're first person and also have that red text.
