I also have a few questions too.

I just wanted to know if these components will work well together?

Will there be any bottleneck due to any of these components?

Has anybody ordered from amazon for computer parts? Are they good with packaging or should I buy all these components at Newegg? Is Newegg careful with the packaging? I prefer to buy them at the same time from the same place. Is it wise to go with Newegg to buy all these components?

What steps can I take to reduce heat from the GPU??

I want to play modern games and games that are yet to release games in the future. I know that in computers nothing is future proof. Based on these specs how long can I max out (or atleast on high settings) future games (I know its a rough estimate but I really want to know).

Any tips? This is my first time build a gaming rig by myself and I want a beast. Kind of nervous. What is the difficulty level for first time builders to build one of these rigs? I dont want to screw up lol. I will be following Neweggs tutorials.

Thank you for reading and thanx in advance for the help. I want to order around Monday/Tuesday.

Even still you don't need a 1000w, psu a good 850w or even 950w are more then enough for that system, 680's only use around 200w , so you will only be pulling 400w at max load with two 680's. Even with the cpu with hefty OC you will be looking at under 700w load.

Wow. Looks beefy to me! I guess cost isn't much of a issue? If not, then looks like you'll be straight, especially in SLI. I envy u.

Its very easy, just screw in the MOBO, and everything else is snap together like legos really. YOU MUST make sure you have a VERY CLEAN (as little dust as possible) environment, im not saying a NASA clean room, but the cleaner the better. KEEP YOURSELF GROUNDED AT ALL TIMES !!!!! even a little bit of static electricity can fry a component, a shock that you can FEEL can destroy a component many times over, just so you understand how little can harm the parts. you can buy a bracelet that grounds you at most PC stores for $5, well worth it.

Na, just make sure your working on a wooden or non metal surface and just make to touch a part of metal of the computer case before building the Pc you you will be fine.

Thanx. It's not that bad. I might get it just in case. And I will be working on a non metal wooden table.

SOUND-CARD

always have to say it on here. dont know why, you spend $240 on a mobo, $9 on thermal compound, another $130 on speakers, but think that great sound is going to come from free, onboard bullsh..

also, 2.1 speakers are totally worthless. youll see 2 minutes into playing an fps game. anything other than 5.1 or 7.1 will give you false signals, you dont want something behind you being sounded by a speaker infront of you. you will be at a massive disadvantage in fps games. you will actually be led away from targets by your sound. i will rape you with my £500 pc because i can hear where you are. onboard sound just isnt good enough to do that, even with the best speakers and headphones. you need good headphones or 5.1/7.1 speakers AND a good sound card, to genuinely stand a chance.

dont know about you but i wouldnt bother spending all that excess money to get the very best, as you have done, and still leave myself a huge disadvantage by ignoring sound.

also, case??

Unless your going with analog based good 5.1+ speakers a sound card is useless.

no it isnt. theres a huge difference in the sound-scape.. i only have a £50 sound card and perhaps £35 headphones, fairly average z5500 speakers, but the difference is huge, to the extent i wont play fps games if i dont have a sound card in working order, and i wont really watch movies or listen to music either. there just isnt a comparison. infact i uninstalled win7 when it first arrived because my sound card wasnt supported and i couldnt tolerate the **** onboard (on a recent z68 mobo). this is what the cs 1.6 generation learned which the gears of war generation didnt.

If your using a digital output there's no real difference between onboard and an add on sound card. Because of the fact that its the software that decoding the audio and its up to the speaker system's DAC to produce the audio , while with analog its the hardware(sound card/audio chipset) decoding and producing the audio source. Also note that with good motherboards have good audio chipsets these days and the only way for one to tell a difference is if you have good quality speakers. I used sound cards for years and with my latest system using onboard vs sound card equals no real difference.

Yep. I use my optical/digital out from my pc to my receiver, sounds great. It's on the mobo, so no need for a sound card. I'm thinking they may be obsolete here shortly.
