I've been looking into building my first PC and have narrowed down the parts that i think should all work well together.

These are the Parts:

CPU:AMD Phenom II X4 925

http://products.amd.com/en-na/DesktopCPUDetail.aspx?id=620

(I have allready purchased this)

Motherboard:http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3412#ov

RAM:Kingston ValueRAM 4GB(2x2GB) DDR3 1333 Mhz

http://www.notebookcity.co.nz/kingston-valueram-4gb-kit-ddr3-1333mhz-dimm-pc10600-desktop-ram&ref=pricespy

(Is 4GB ram overkill? Is it allright to go with the 1333 rather than a higher Mhz?)

Case: Thermaltake V3 Black edition with 450W PSU and one 120mm fan

http://www.thermaltake.com/product_info.aspx?PARENT_CID=C_00001577&id=C_00001578&name=V3+Black+Edition&ovid=

HD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB

http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=20b92d0ca8dce110VgnVCM100000f5ee0a0aRCRD

Have not yet decided on CD/DVD drive and will wait before getting a new Graphics card as integrated ATI Radeon HD 4250 graphics on motherboard should suffice for a while.

Will not be used to play many games mainly Civ V, Diablo 3 or any other PC exclusives as i prefer consoles.

Keep in mind that im not from the US and instead come from New Zealand where the prices are higher and the choice is a bit more limited.

Any advice would be appreciated.

The integrated card won't suffice for a while. 4gb of ram is perfect.

Well i don't plan on doing much(any) PC gaming for a while as i'll still be playing Halo Reach and COD BO so i can worry about upgrading the card when i have some more money.

Looks on but dont use the power supply that comes with the case, instead get a proper PSU from a good brand like corsair or OCZ. PSUs that come with cases are always low quality and tend to go boom. 4GB of RAM is not overkill these days, but its all you will ever need for now. 1333MHz is fine, a lot of people seem to go with that speed. I wouldnt get the value stuff though

MonsieurX is right, The 4250 is technologically old school and 4GB is plenty, as you need 4 + gb for 64 bit OS's. Im running windows 7 32 bit because of my lack of ram ( 2gb 800mhz ) and its a bit slow. Runs like my old computer. which had more ram lol

Nah the cheap ones are fine, they have to meet pretty strict standards so that they do not go boom, trust me if it goes boom your gonna be sueing the company so don't worry about it... They all meet the same standards just some of them are more efficient and cost a lot more for a fancy brand name to be stamped onto it. You don't many people posting about how their PSU is good and working, if everyone did then you'd have about 2billion posts over the internet... See where im going with this? Just because there are a lot of posts doesnt mean every cheap one will blow. The proprtion of blown up psus to working ones is probably 0.000001%

i rarely see any posts about a psu blowing, its just people recommend getting better quality psu's especially if u r gonna put in a gpu that requires a moderate amount of power. however with less power hungry gpu, ppl will say that the cheap ones are fine

I do agree about most PSU's being safe(nothing has gone wrong with all my stock PC's PSU's so far) it's just as Halokillerz said i was planning on upgrading both the GPU and PSU at the same time.

Thanks for all the help guys i'll place my orders when i get home.

Why get an mATX board? If you stuff it with hardware, it will run hotter than an ATX board. Better choice would be an Gigabyte 890GPT-UD3H.
