I just installed vista ultimate and FSX on it and the fps is very bad!!! Even when i set it to minimal settings the fps stills stays very low (about 6-12 fps). I used to play it on xp with at least 20 fps on medium settings. I even tried turning Aero off, but nothing changes. What should i do???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Just because you have Windows Vista Ultimate doesn't mean your system specifications don't qualify enough to play FSX on high settings. Can you give a list of your internal computer hardware (CPU, GPU, RAM, etc.) and then maybe I can tell you if that is the problem to your FPS lagging? Thanks

Yeah, what do u mean? He says it's lagging and i'm saying just because he has Vista Ultimate doesnt mean he still doesnt need good hardware.

Yeah, but I think he's saying that he's not getting the same FPS on the same hardware using Vista instead of XP. That is, the difference is so big that there has to be something else slowing it down.

While Vista runs games slower than XP , the difference seems big. I am wondering how much ram do you have, milan? Vista needs about 1Gb (preferabley 2gb) to run a game, A decent 2Gb will only set you back about 30 Quid http://scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=255300 or 30 dollars (after rebates) http://scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=255300

Well, there is a somewhat big difference between Vista and XP. Vista sucks the daylights out of your RAM, plus it's brand new with still many bugs and XP has been out for years and is obviously not so demanding on system specs. But that might not be the case. Also just pointing out, FSX came out when Vista was still in its beta stage, so with SP2 it was made it compatible with Vista. Either way I dont know what the problem is.
